Water is the natural enemy of the roof. On a flat roof, in particular, it can quickly result in the roof's load limits being reached. Reliable roof drainage is essential for every flat roof. The increase in severe weather events which go hand in hand with extreme rainfall is now regarded as a fact of life. If lots of rain falls in a short time, this also means that lots of water has to be drained off the roof in a short time. The solution from Sita:Gravity roof drainage
Gravity roof drainage is the standard method for the internal drainage of flat roofs and is regulated by DIN EN 12056 Part 3 and DIN 1986 Part 100. With a Gravity roof drainage system the flat roof is drained using roof outlets and a pipeline system installed on a gradient. The pipes are operated part-filled with water. A maximum fill level of the collection and basic pipes of h/d = 0.7 and of fall pipes of f = 0.33 must not be exceeded. Gravity roof drainage is characterised by the removal of rainwater using gravity. The pipe base gradient is used to transport the water. The drainage capacity of a Gravity roof drainage system is mainly determined by this pipe base gradient and the design of the roof outlets. The outlet's inflow hopper increases the drainage capacity.
