IMPORTANT Module 1 NOTES: Based on the Next Generation Math Standards (to be implemented NEXT YEAR), please keep the following upcoming changes in mind:

● 3.OA.8 will not include the introduction of the Order of Operations. That will be delayed until Grade 4 (4.OA.3) and (5.OA.A.1). ● 3.0A.C.7 Fluently multiply and divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division

(e.g., knowing that 8 × 5 = 40, one knows 40 ÷ 5 = 8) or properties of operations. By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.

● Fluency Expectations: Reaching fluency will take much of the year for many students, so work on developing understanding and fluency of multiplication and division should begin at the beginning of the year.

PACING Plan for September 2020 – December 2020

Please note that there will be times throughout the YEAR when you will either be embedding lessons from the previous grade level, omitting lessons at this grade level, and/or combining lessons at this grade level. This is all

to ensure that our students have the foundational and grade level conceptual understanding to progress masterfully as the standards outline.

The decisions that were made were based on the progression of content from grade to grade (coherence). Those

March - June standards that underlie the mastery of this year's standards were deemed essential and it was determined that they must be embedded in this years' pacing.

Combine 18 and 19 both lessons decompose once to subtract, including 3 digit minuends with the zeros in the tens or ones place. Complete Lesson 18 use problem set from lesson 19 for additional practice.
