Happy August, to all of our Grace friends and family!

Did you know Au-gust is Happiness Happens Month? It is a whole month dedicated to cele-

brating what makes you happy. The hol-iday is based on the premise that happi-ness is unlimited and contagious and that sharing one’s happiness can bring a lot of joy in other people’s lives. Even though Happiness Happens Month sounds silly, it does have a very important purpose.

It takes courage to be happy because many people feel guilty being happy when others are unhappy or when bad

things are happening in the world. But happiness energizes people and creates a joyful and energized home life. Some-one must start the spiral of happiness. It might as well be you.

When you practice happiness actions for a whole month, happiness can become a habit that is contagious as it spreads happiness to others. So, I encourage each of you to DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY! Whether that be singing in the shower, dancing like no one is watching, or watching your favorite TV show!

I love each one of you – you make me so HAPPY!

Pray! Pray! Pray!

And He spoke a par-able to them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint. (Luke 18:1)

The reason we don’t pray with frequency and fervency today is because we think we can do things on our own without prayer. We have our plans, machinery and methods. We have our pastors, choir and Bible fellowships. So, we come to thinking, “We’ll get it done; we know how to do it.”

And you know what the devil does? He stands in the corner and smirks. He says, “You can have your choir, your preach-er-have everything you want. You can even have your Bible studies, as long as you leave prayer out.” Satan knows the power of God that comes with the kind of fervent prayer that will not take no for an answer.

The devil fears our prayers! He will do everything he can to keep you distracted and off your knees. Spend time in prayer. The devil mocks at our schemes, laughs our organization, ridicules our talents, but he fears our prayers. Pray – not only fre-quently but fervently.

Resident of the Month Alfred Brownlee

Alfred Brownlee was born on February 12,1959 to Grace and Zenor Brownlee in Bu-ford, Georgia. He was the seventh born of 13 kids. He has five broth-ers and six sisters. Al-fred met his wife in high

school, and they were married after she grad-uated in 1977. They were married for 26 years.

They shared two kids together – Alfred Brown-lee Jr. and Aleia Brownlee. Together, they gave Lorri and Alfred nine grandchildren. Alfred was a part of our United State Air Force. Alfred en-joys gardening and dancing to Michael Jackson songs. Alfred enjoys giving out big bear hugs, and we here at Grace Senior Living just love those hugs. Let’s give Mr. Alfred a warm con-gratulations on being named our Resident of the Month.

Welcome New Employee Tanique McCord

Tanique McCord is a New York native, sharing four children with hus-band Derrick. Tanique has been in the hospi-tality industry over 20 years. Graduating from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, Tanique

solidified her destiny. Tanique specializes in Fine, Vegetarian and Vegan Cuisine.

“Food is vital to our mind, body and spirit and helps us to live life to our highest and healthi-est capacity. I’m so blessed to be at Grace Se-nior Living to share wellness and our seniors giving me back the balance of life.”

Welcome New Resident James “Ronald” Stover

We would like to intro-duce you to our new resident, James “Ron-ald” Stover. Welcome to our Grace Senior Living family. Ronald was born in Fairburn, Georgia on June 20, 1938. He got married to his wife, Ro-

salyn, on April 17, 1965 and they have been to-gether for 55 years. Rosalyn and Ronald have

two children, David and Jonathan. Mr. Stover proudly served in the United States Army for six years. A few things Mr. Stover enjoys are fixing things – cars, animals, and farm equip-ment. A fun fact about Ronald is that Margaret Thompson, another Grace resident, is his sis-ter. Margaret and Ronald’s sister, Betty Stan-ford, also used to live here at Grace. We are happy to have had all three Stover siblings live here at Grace. Welcome to the family, Ronald!
