Got Life

The Outside Looking Like the Inside

The Apostle John wrote in his

third letter, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest proser and be

in health, even as thy soul prospers.”

In prayer the other day, I told God

that as I become spiritually fit I want

there to be a manifestation of the internal workout on display in every

other area of my life.

I believe one of the greatest

testimonies I can have as a believer is

to be spiritually in shape and have it

show through my physical man, my

finances, relationships, and emotional state.

Should anyone believe, especially the unsaved, that I have a strong

spiritual walk with God if I’m

unhealthy, broke, no friends, emotionally unstable, family life all

torn up?

Our personal life is often, more

than we would like, a reflection of our

spiritual state. Most of us would fight to prove that statement false, only to

confirm the truth of it.

God’s desire is that we walk in

His wealth, the new Life. It doesn’t mean we won’t have test and

moments of great trial that will affect various areas of our life. But in the

good and the bad we must be good

stewards of the inside (spiritual), as well as the outside (natural).

In this new year I’m committed to seeing that “inside and outside” are

worked on. I want to feel and look as

good on the outside as I do on the inside, and as good on the inside as I

do on the outside.

Make it Happen...I think this should be my theme for 2013. Everything that I believe God has spoken over my life is my choice to make it happen.

The 2013 Daniel Fast is important to me because, now more than ever, I believe that this is a book of Joshua moment. Now understand this is just my opinion.

In Joshua chapter 7, there is a valuable lesson of individual and corporate results of behavior or “worship”.

Israel had just won its greatest battle and saw the mighty Jericho fall into their hands. With confidence that God would do it again in the battle of Ai, the people told Joshua that only a few men were needed to conquer the city. To their dismay they were chased away like cowards.

What happened? One man disobeyed God’s command that they were to take nothing for themselves from Jericho. God not only brought a curse upon Achan, but upon all of Israel too. As a result there was individual punishment, death, and a corporate punishment, and defeat in battle.

I believe that just as God issued punishment upon both Achan and the children of Israel for their disobedience, that God will reward us individually and corporately as we seek His face, listen to His voice and obey His will during this fast.

I don’t believe that I am just fasting for myself. No, that would be a very selfish way of thinking. If this is a church fast then that means the whole of the local assembly will benefit from what I give and receive.

The blessings that I shall obtain from this fast will effect my spiritual family, just as Achan’s rebellion caused all of Israel to have sinned in the eyes of God.

So for me, if I want to see things happen this year at New Life Temple Church, I have to make it happen. The choice is mine! The choice is yours!

End Time or Harvest Time

By Bishop Brenda K. Perry

In the gospel of Matthew 24 it speaks much about diversity in

perilous times that will take place before His coming. We read in 2 Timothy 3:1-6 where the Apostle Paul makes this statement, “But know this that in the last day’s perilous times will come.” And as read all of the scriptures concerning these last evil days will come. We, the saints, who are in Christ should not become neither discouraged nor fearful, but look up and see our redemption draws near. Our hope is in Him. He is our shield and protection.

Daily we hear so much negative and evil that is in the world. From mass killings, to devastating storms, uncontrollable fires and earthquakes…..you name it, and it is happening with compound interest. Even though I believe in God’s divine protection, we must do our part and be watchful, and take all precautions. Apostle Paul said in 2nd Thessalonians, “Not to be soon shaken in mind or trouble.”

God wants His people to be on top in current events, to be in the know. We see wars and hear rumors of wars; starvation in major parts of the world. We see the draught and flooding that is wiping out or preventing crops to grow.

Throughout history there has been mass destruction that has caused humanity to look up and began to believe that Jesus soon return was at hand. We heard a lot about Jesus’

Sin Still Dwells in UsRomans 7:20

By Minister Isaac Bazile

Today I was thinking about the recent tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, how that the lives of twenty young children and six adults were taken in a senseless shooting. I thought to myself, the enemy is very busy attacking our children. How could that happen? My heart was sad because I have children who are now grown, and they also have young children. I imagined how I would feel if it were them, and I began to weep. The devil is real. Deception is his favorite strategy.

I believe that is what happened to the young man who took so many lives, including his mother and his own life. Rebellion happens even in the best of environments. America is hurting, but the world is hurting too. Every time we turn on the television there is a loss of life through battles in the streets, conflicts in governments, religious groups warring with each other. If you are like me you are tired of all the wars and the hurt in the world. Jesus told his disciples that in the last days there will be wars and rumors of wars. (Matthew 24:6)

We are living in a sinful world; sin is on every side. We are tempted, and because we have sin dwelling within us, we are liable to do anything. Now

Harvest Time continued from page 2

return, or the rapture of the Church, that would take place in 2012. Well Happy New Year to everyone. January 2013 is here. I don’t want you to think I’m not looking for the catching away of the believer, and desirous not for Jesus’ return. No man knows either the hour, or the day, or the year of our Savior’s return. Let me say it this way, we are to look and expect His return. However, let us not lose focus on the main thing.

When you think so much on the End Time you focus on yourself and making oneself right with God. Dead or alive the body of Christ must be ready for His coming. You can’t get ready. You must be ready. Reading 1st and 2nd Thessalonians, 1st Corinthians character 15, and other scriptures tells us that those asleep in Christ shall arise first, and those that are alive shall be caught up and changed in a moment, in the twinkle of an eye to be with Him. This is not telling me to get ready, but to be ready when Christ appears. So what am I trying to say? I’m glad you ask.

Our main focus is not to be on His return, but being more focused on our Father’s business. The disciples in Acts 1:6 asked Jesus, “….Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?” We are no different from them. Jesus’ response to them and us is, “It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

It starts at home then to the entire world. When you read the gospels we see that Jesus started His ministry by teaching men to be fisher of men.

Jesus’ main focus was to do the Father’s will for humanity. Our main focus is to tell this dying world about a living Savior. Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection brought true salvation. After the Apostle Paul was brought to the light of whom Jesus was and His purpose for humanity, he never stopped witnessing and reaching the lost. Yes, Paul speaks about the coming of the Lord even in his day to encourage and give hope.

We are witnesses and Ambassadors for Christ. In 2nd Corinthians 5:20a and also in verse 18 reads, “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.” Throughout the gospels Jesus main purposes were (1) preparing His disciple for the task that was set before them when He would leave, and (2) to complete the will of the Father. So why are we waiting? Let us get excited again, and go tell everybody about Jesus Christ. It’s Harvest Time

Sin continued from page 2

if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who does it, but sin that dwells

in me (Romans 7:20). Basically that is the answer to the question “how could he commit such an atrocity”. The answer is sin. He believed in the deception of the devil, whatever that may have been. But just as bleak as that truth may be, the glorious truth is that salvation united us to Jesus Christ--and He defeated sin not only once and for all as our substitute on the cross, but also he triumphed in the wilderness facing Satan.

Satan, the enemy of God and man, is alive and well on planet earth. But God's Word assures us that we are "more than conquerors through Christ". Satan is a defeated foe, a weakened adversary and crushed enemy. We have the victory through Jesus who lived the perfect life. Jesus left the perfect example. God's Word records the ultimate method for resisting Satan's attacks--the model Jesus left for us, the secret of how to resist the attacks of Satan like Jesus did. We must teach this to our children, and explain to others that we serve a mighty God, and that those who lost their lives are now sitting with Him in Glory.

It is so important for us to realize that as the day of Christ’s return grows near, that the sins of man will not decrease but it will increase, and those of us who know the word will be challenged to live the word even more. We will be asked how a loving God could allow these things to happen to innocent children. What will your answer be?

Outreach Ministry

So this is Christmasand what have you done?

Another year overand a new one just begun.

During the Christmas holidays I always look forward to hearing the song these words appear in: “So this is Christmas” written by John Lennon. I so enjoy the melody, and the truth that the lyrics hold.

However this year, while listening to the song, I asked myself, “And what have we done in Outreach? Another year over…..” Time does seem to slip away so quickly. We have good intentions to give an out stretched hand to aid someone. Sure we set aside a day to visit the sick. We want to make that call to someone we have missed attending church services.

We purpose many mornings to make an extra effort to share the Good News with a coworker we know is not saved. The list can go on and on. Yet the question remains, “And what have we done……Another year over…..And a new one just begun.”

No, we may not have accomplished all of the above. But I can report to you that in the year 2012, the New Life Temple family touched 553 souls in the name of Jesus.

PRASIE GOD! PRAISE GOD!

It is my prayer that we will enter into 2013 being even more determined to not only serve mankind, but to lead someone to repentance. Lead someone into

making an informed decision, based on the gospel, to give their life back to our

creator. I pray we will have the heart and attitude exemplified by Peter and John in Acts 4:19-20.

We have our instructions, “Go, and make disciples.” We have His approval. He has even given us the authority to use His precious name. Saints, we have an awesome message that thousands need to hear. Let’s keep touching lives with His sweet gospel.

I don’t know how many times I’ve been courted, engaged or espoused because God

said to do it. And somehow I

never make it to the altar.

It’s like God is playing a very funny joke on me, but keeps forgetting to let me in on the joke.

This has to be the reason I keep a very private social life...

Wait! Here’s the truth. I’m a real social butterfly, and that keeps me in trouble. I really enjoy people! Did you just question what I said? Seriously, I enjoy people. In fact I may stretch it a bit and say I love people! There, I said it...I LOVE PEOPLE!

This fondness for people has a way of getting me in deep trouble. You see when I met people, I enjoy the process of relationship development. So I freely give away my email, my mobile numbers, befriend on Facebook, add to my circle on Google+...this is starting to sound like a write up about social networking; the remake of “You’ve Got Mail”.

Anyway, back to what I was talking about. When I met people who peak my interest, I allow myself to, how shall we say it, get involved. I through myself into the moment of whatever it can be called at that moment.

I take in the way they move, how they say their words, the shape of the mouth, their scent, their style, the way their brain is ticking in that moment. And within 10 minuets I know whether I’m in love or not. If this relationship has a future and...

So it goes.

Within minuets I become a fan of this new human who has entered my life, intriguing my mind, adding a new

volume to the book of my life, and creating a new masterpiece to delight eyes and ears. Another human invades the gallery of my delightful friends.

Though they are scattered across the

world, some of these wonderful people have become great friends of mine. While others have moved to a nice place in “Fond Memoryville”.

And then there are those...

Those people (men), whom I’m sure have great intentions, who insist on taking me to the matrimonial altar despite the fact that I’ve been dragged to that place many, many times before. Kicking and screaming I might add.

I don’t know how many times I’ve been wedded, or at least supposed to be wedded, by some man who got the assurance that our marriage, declared by God, was the best thing for me.

I mean really! How preposterous of them to tell me what is best for me!

Well, I found out what was the problem. God wasn’t interested in talking to me. Nope! He only wanted to tell my

husband to be (several of them) that they were the one for me.

I can’t understand why God wouldn’t speak to me. Me! The social butterfly who loves listening and talking.

I guess it’s like a friend insinuated on Facebook, Im not listening to God when He speak. Well what he really said was, “God isn’t gonna speak to you if you are not willing to listen.”

*Blank stare

Uh, seriously? lol

Here it is in all seriousness. As Christians, regardless of age, gender, or marital status, we have to know with confidence when God is speaking to us. We must learn to hear the voice of God. If we don’t there are people who for the most part have really, really good intentions, that will attempt to speak in the place of God because of what they want for or from us.

But their want can be the destruction that totally mess up the fulfillment of God’s divine plan for our life. Many people have stepped out, married a person, took a job, left their church, divorced, moved to another city because someone told them too. Yet they never sought God for themselves to receive confirmation. Only to find their life in shambles as a result.

The other week I received a letter from a man far, far away who said that our relationship and marriage was prophesied to him years ago. And that he is to come to the States and live here in Texas with me...yea I’m cracking up too.

Since I’m not the fool(ish one) here, I have to wonder if he ever sought God about this “word” he received, or did he just run with it? Because I’m the second woman from Texas that he has claimed to be his wife, declared by God.

Yea, right!

Statement of Faith

We believe in one eternal God; infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purpose, as well as omniscient and omnipresent.

We believe this one true God, who revealed Himself as Father in Creation, as Son in redemption, and as Holy Ghost in regeneration.

We believe that - in Him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell.

We believe in the death, burial and resurrection.

We believe in being born again of water-by immersion in the name of the Lord “Jesus” Christ for the remission of sins, and in Spirit baptism of the Holy Ghost - speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.

We believe in divine healing, communion and foot washing.

We believe in presenting our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God.

We believe in expressions of praise with lifted hands, hand clapping, playing of musical instruments, voice of praise and dancing.

The purpose of New Life Temple Church is to instill the faith of Jesus Christ into the lives of all people, bringing them into spiritual perfection with a spirit of excellence.
