Undoubtedly WordPress is most acceptable and extensively used Content Management System. But WordPress is terrible when it comes to search functionality. Search functionality is listless and not proficient to find matched keywords. You can replace WordPress search with Google Custom Engine provided by Google itself on your WordPress-based website. We know search is king. People love search. When it comes to search Google is at the top.
LET’S GET STARTED OUR JOURNEY
We will discuss here, how to create and implement Google Custom Searh Engine in WordPress.
Go to Google Custom Search Engine and click Sign in to Custom Search Engine.
When you signed in you will see the following window. Click “New Search Engine” then enter the site on which you want to add search engine. Give name to your search engine and click “Create” button to proceed.
You have successfully created custom search engine for your WordPress site. You can see three options in screen capture given below.
1- GET THE CODE
If you simply want to implement custom search engine in your site with out any changes then
click “Get the code” button and Get the code. Paste the code in the page where you’d like the
Custom Search to appear. Confused where to put the code?
Click “see HTML example”, It will show you how to add code in your site’s section.

2-PUBLIC URL
Click here if you want to see how your search engine looks on the web.
3-CONTROL PANEL If you want to modify your
search engine before implementation in WordPress site.
In control Panel you can see many options.
By clicking the “Basic” tab, the following page will be appear.
Make changes here according to your own choice.
Here you can deal your custom search engine in numerous ways and this includes features which can be modified at anytime.
MONETIZATION:
You can integrate your AdSence account with custom search engine. This allows you to place relevant ads on your search result pages.
ADD USERS:
You can add users to your Custom Search Engines.
INDEXING:
You can set Google to index and crawl your new web pages in your Custom Search Engine.
ADD OR EXCLUDE SITES:
Advance tab allows you to add new sites or pages. If you want to exclude specific pages which you want to keep out of the search results.
STYLE YOUR SEARCH ENGINE:
Look and Feel feature which you can see in left side bar menu.
This feature allows you to customize the style of your Custom Search Engine that matches to your website.
You can also set the search features, logs, statistics and business settings according to your requirements.
