PBL Griffin Rewards and Certificates
At school today, teachers have handed out Griffin Rewards and Certificates to students who have either achieved all of their PBL Goals during Semester Two, or, showed an improvement in achieving their goals.
With Semester One reports, you will have received a copy of their PBL Goals, and their progress on achieving these goals.
We have a set of rewards this year, which incorporate our new Griffin PBL mascot. This information has been shared in previous newsletters please see attached for further information on what the rewards are for each year level.
We would like to congratulate all students who have demonstrated an improvement in achieving their PBL goals. GPS is very lucky to have, overall, a very well‐behaved bunch of students.
The badges are intended to be worn on school shirts. If your child would like to place it on their hat or bag, this is acceptable, but please keep in mind that badges are the responsibility of the students. Students who have received a patch, have a separate information note being sent home, which explains where they must apply the patch on shirts.
If your child loses their badge or patch, you may purchase a new one, at a cost of $3.00 for patches or badges.
Please note: badges and patches will only be available for purchase, for students that have already had one
awarded. The school will keep this information on file.
PBL Goal Sheets
Special Announcement Regarding GRIFFIN GUILD PATCHES
Because this is our first year of the Griffin Rewards, ALL Year 5 students who have achieved all of their PBL Goals for
Semester Two, will receive the Griffin Guild patch (regardless of whether or not they achieved all of their PBL goals in
2013). Commencing 2015, the normal criteria will occur.
Griffin Rewards Proposal Reward
Year (reward given at end of year)
If students achieve all of their PBL goals for Semester Two, they are rewarded with a badge, which corresponds to their current year level. E.g. A Year 1 student meets the PBL criteria, but did not receive a badge for their previous year (Kindergarten). The student will still receive a bronze badge, regardless of any badge they have received prior. The rewards are given at the end of Semester Two, in readiness to wear (and be acknowledged for their exemplary behaviour) during the following year. Students have the choice of wearing their badges on their school shirt, hat, bag, or keeping it at home. If a student loses a badge, they will have the option of purchasing a replacement from the PBL team. Students are ultimately responsible for looking after their own property whilst at school, and this includes their PBL badges.
