Roshydromet IITS/R-WIS Overview

Roshydromet Integrated Information & Telecom System (IITS) Programme adopted

Russian WIS segment (GISC-Moscow and 8 DCPC) will provide a data management infrastructure of IITS

Approach is to use standartizided soft components as «a building blocks» for all R-WIS/IITS nodes

Prototypes of GISC-Moscow/DCPC-Obninsk are ready and it’s testing is in process

IITS/R-WIS and OpenWIS

There are common vision on WIS implementation RHM has been joined to OpenWIS Consortium as Associate Partner and

will provide soft contribution to OPenWIS

R-WIS will be based on hybrid solutions combining RHM modules and

OpenWIS modules

R-WIS first priority is GISC-Moscow before April 2012, ready for WMO

audit in May 2012

R-WIS plans to use for GISC-Moscow (i) OpenWIS modules; (2)

assistance services, provided by MFI

MFI will introducing RHM solution for WIS portal into OpenWIS

RHM shown interest to use OpenWIS and MFI experience for IITS design

and development
