celestial being. A spin off has been created to take into
consideration today’s technological society.

Max and Ruby are beloved characters in many of her books, and some of those books can be viewed
on PBS Kids.

about an alternative punk working class couple who listened to their daughter’s

This Caldecott Medal-winning illustrator has been recognized as an outstanding artist in the medium of
woodcut. Her illustrations are lovely hand-colored prints that convey the
rough edges of life in another century. In Snowflake Bently she uses strong
black lines to create pleasing patterns of individual snowflakes.
This illustrator is probably one of the best-known creators of fantasy in
children’s books. One of his classic books was turned into an animated movie and is repeatedly viewed by
many during the Christmas season. He also illustrated Jumanji, The Widow’s
Broom, Two Bad Ants and The Stranger.
This author and illustrator uses watercolor-and-pencil collages in his
works. He wrote a picture book about a boy named Moses and his deaf
classmates who go to a concert and learn a unique way to listen to music. He most recent work is Arbeit Macht
Frei, Work Sets You Free.
This illustrator’s work strikes emotion in readers in the book Martin’s Big Words. In fact, his illustration on the cover of this book speaks for itself and
no title is necessary.
