Limited Warranty. GAFMC warrants to you, the registeredowner of a GAFMC Weather Stopper® Roof System, that GAFMCwill compensate you in accordance with this warranty if:

(1) Your GAFMC Weather Stopper® System does not remain freefrom manufacturing defects (including that the glass on yourGAFMC skylights will not develop materially reduced trans-parency) for the warranty term stated above or there are appli-cation errors in your Weather Stopper® System or covered flash-ings that adversely affect their performance during the warran-ty term for application defects, or

(2) Your GAFMC Weather Stopper® System is damaged bywinds up to the maximum wind speed listed above or yourshingles fail to seal during the first 12 years, or

(3) In the event that you purchased shingles with Algae-Eater™

Protection, blue-green algae causes a pronounced discol-oration of your shingles during the first 10 years.

Exclusive Remedies. Your exclusive remedy for any part ofyour GAFMC Weather Stopper® System that does not performas stated above is:

(1)For Manufacturing Defects.

(a) Non-Prorated Period. The Non-Prorated Period foryour Weather Stopper® System depends on the shingleinstalled. When “Lifetime” shingles are installed, the Non-Prorated Period (except for skylights and Master Flow®

ventilation) is the first 50 years after application for singlefamily detached residences (15 years for all other structures); for all other shingles, the Non-Prorated Period isthe first 15 years.

For GAFMC skylights, the Non-Prorated Period depends onthe shingle installed. When “Lifetime” shingles areinstalled, the Non-Prorated Period for GAFMC skylights is20 years (except motors and electronic components, which have 5-year coverage); when other shingles areinstalled, the Non-Prorated Period for GAFMC skylights is15 years (except motors and electronic components, which have 5-year coverage).

For Master Flow® ventilation products, when “Lifetime” shin-gles are installed, the Non-Prorated Period for Master Flow®

ventilation products is 20 years (except motors and electron-ic components, which have 5-year coverage); when othershingles are installed, the Non-Prorated Period for MasterFlow® ventilation products is 15 years (except motors andelectronic components, which have 5-year coverage).

During the Non-Prorated Period, if any part of your GAFMCWeather Stopper® System is found to have a manufactur-ing defect, GAFMC will arrange to have your roof repairedor recovered or, at its sole option, will provide you withreplacement roofing products or components and reim-burse you for the full reasonable cost of labor ($150 max-imum for each GAFMC skylight) and other materials torepair or recover your roof, including flashings at valleys, dormers, chimneys, plumbing vents, and around GAFMCskylights. The costs of labor to tear off some or all ofyour GAFMC Weather Stopper® System and disposalare included, if necessary to repair your roof.

b) Subsequent Claims. After the Non-Prorated Period, ifthere is a covered manufacturing defect, the repair orrecover cost which GAFMC will pay, and the roofing prod-ucts to be provided, will be reduced to reflect the amountof use you have received from your roof. The amount ofuse will be calculated by dividing the number of monthswhich have elapsed since installation by the number ofmonths in the warranty term. For installations where a“Lifetime” shingle has been installed on a single familydetached residence, the prorated value of your WeatherStopper® System after 50 years will be 10%. For installa-tions where a “Lifetime” shingle has been installed on astructure other than a single family detached residence, thefollowing proration factors will apply to your WeatherStopper® System:

Proration Schedule For The Weather Stopper® SystemWhere “Lifetime” Shingles Are Installed On StructuresOther Than Single Family Residences:

After the Non-Prorated Period, GAFMC’s maximum liabilityfor any roof shall NOT exceed three times the Dollar PerSquare Value before any reduction for use. GAF’s maximumliability for labor to repair GAFMC Skylights shall not exceed$150 per skylight.

(2)For Misapplication.

If during the warranty term for misapplication any part ofyour GAFMC Weather Stopper® System or covered flash-ings is found to have application errors, GAFMC willarrange to have your roof repaired or recovered or, at itssole option, will provide you with replacement roofing prod-ucts or components and reimburse you for the full reason-able cost of labor ($150 maximum for each GAFMC sky-light) and other materials to repair or recover your roof, including flashings at valleys, dormers, chimneys, plumb-ing vents, and around GAFMC skylights. products and hand sealing any remaining unsealed shingles.

(4) For Algae Discoloration (10 year coverage, if applicable).

(a) If your shingles have been applied for less than one year, GAFMC’s contribution will be either the cost ofcleaning your shingles or the cost to repair or recover yourshingles, up to a maximum of the original installed cost ofthe affected shingles.

(b) For the next 9 years, GAFMC’s contribution will be basedupon the Dollar Per Square Value listed above, reduced by theamount of use you have received from your shingles.

Decisions as to the extent of repair, recover or cleaningrequired, and the reasonable cost of such work will be madesolely by GAFMC. The remedy under this warranty is availableonly for those parts of your GAFMC Weather Stopper® Systemactually exhibiting manufacturing defects, misapplication(including misapplication of covered flashings) or blue-greenalgae growth at the time of settlement. Any replacementGAFMC Weather Stopper® products will be warranted only forthe remainder of the original warranty period. (c) If the transfer takes place after the first 12 years afterapplication, the length of this warranty shall be reduced to thetwo-year period after ownership changes. During this two-year period, GAFMC’s reimbursement to the second ownerwill be based on the Dollar Per Square Value listed above forshingles (or for non-shingle Weather Stopper products, thecost of the product itself), reduced by the amount of use thathas been received from the roof from date of installation.
