(cont’d from Page 1)

The American Society for Quality has been a front runner in the field of providing leadership to industries and professionals in all

walks of life since 1946. Let us continue the tradition by becoming leaders in our industries. Please feel free to ask for any help you

may need in your leadership activities. We are all comrades with the same focus.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire Membership Leader Team (MLT) for making 2015 as memorable as

it has been. I look forward to the continued cooperation and selfless services from the member leaders in order to take Section 702

to a height of recognition in the region. We may be a small section but our strength is greater than many sections around us. That

is because of the great MLT.

Sincerely,

CG.Mistry

I am glad to announce that our Mentor – Mentee Program has finally kicked off.

This is a new program, and we expect some glitches. We are committed, however, to building this program into a success for Section 702 and a model that other sections will follow.

This program will increase the value of Section 702 membership by providing one-on-one exchanges between mentors (experienced Quality Professionals) and mentees (fresh graduates or members who need guidance in Quality). These additional two-way channels of communication in our section will integrate classic best practices with new requirements from the field. Rather than being theoretical discussions, mentors and mentees can work together on real problems and real solutions.

We invite new mentors and mentees to join this program. Please contact Chhanubhai Mistry (email: [email protected] ), or myself (email: [email protected] ). In addition, it you have experience with men-toring programs, please share your thoughts and ideas with us. The more you share knowledge, the more it grows. Like the mustard seed, a small piece of advice is a gift. Nurtured with understanding and fresh ideas, it can grow into a big tree, which then provides seeds to others.

Testimony for ASQ 0702 Mentor and Mentee Program

I was fortunate to be part of ASQ Section 0702 Mentor and Mentee pilot program and want to thank C.G. Mistry for being my mentor. Working with C.G. had several benefits:

Provided an “open door” option to call and had several one-on-one conversations while I was attempting to re-launch my career in engineering field.

Supported decision making between ASQ certifications and non-ASQ training options.

Provided leads to career opportunities and introduced me to key professionals in order to tap into hid-den opportunities.

Allowed me to gain hands-on experience by working along with him to conduct internal ISO13485 au-dit.

Enabled me to be well prepared for job interviews by conducting practice interviews and providing unbi-ased feedback.

Mentor-Mentee Program did serve as a positive catalyst to accomplish one of my important career goals. I am glad that I took advantage of this pilot program.

Sincerely, R.S.
