FROM THE EDITORS DESK Linda Baker
www.artloversmovement.com Art Lovers Movement
Hello all Art Lovers. As the months pass, we are getting closer
to our BIG Exhibition, and as there is a lot of information to be
sent out regarding that, all Exhibition forms, rosters etc will be
sent separately from the Newsletter. This information, will all be
put on to the WEBPAGE under the EXHIBITION TAG ON THE HOME PAGE. So
if you need that information again, please use the WEBPAGE as your
first port of call. It is very time consuming for committee members
to be sending out lots of separate emails, to people who have
misplaced or deleted, or for some reason or other have not received
this information. That happens, as email systems are not foolproof.
I do not look at the ALM webmail server every day, other things in
my life often over fill my time, so a response to an email asking
for forms etc, is often delayed for some days, or very brief. The
NEWSLETTER is loaded on to the webpage every month and so is easily
accessible should it not be received when expected. Then send me an
email asking that I check your email address and inclusion on the
distribution lists. Or a text message. As Stephanie said, the
committee members put in a lot of time voluntarily to make ALM the
great organisation that it is. We are always looking for others to
join the committee and ease our workload. Just let us know that you
want to help. Cheers, Linda.

July’s demonstration with Nigel Necklen was very interesting.
From seeing how an underpainting helps to set the tones—to the
frustration of trying to complete a painting in cold humid
conditions. The under painting was done in warm colours, the main
paints used are shown below. To the ‘horror’ of our water colour
enthusiasts, Nigel used a well worn and fluffed out water colour
brush to get that lovely soft effect on the clouds. When doing a
landscape painting Nigel also reminded us that stepping away from
the canvas was essential to get the overall perspective. As we can
see from the finished painting above, patience and perseverance is
what it takes to create something beautiful. I hope Nigel will
bring the finished painting in for us next meeting.
