Listed below are some important updates that should helpful for all our neighbors. • Progress on Berm Plantings ‐ With the removal of the dying Austrian Pines completed and the approval of the replacement landscaping plan, the fall plantings have begun! You will be seeing a flurry of activity along the berm as C.B. Conlin, our chosen vendor, uses the optimal fall planting season to complete their work. We are pleased that River Run is ahead of many area neighborhoods in addressing the Austrian Pine issue and we will continue to monitor the remaining Austrian pines for future replacement. The approved landscape plan is posted on the RealManage web portal and to our website at RiverRunNaperville.org. Although these plans will bring comparable privacy for the berm homeowners as the landscape matures, homeowners may submit ARC forms to further supplement the berm landscaping (per the existing landscape enhancement process). • Fall Leaf Pick‑up ‑ Naperville offers multiple ways to easily dispose of those fall leaf and yard waste projects. A free bagged leaf and yard waste collection program is offered now through December 14th. No yard bag stickers are required during this time. Also, bulk curbside leaf collection is available now through November 12th. To participate, residents just need to rake leaves into the street curb in front of their house. In case of an early snow fall, the program does get halted and any leaves left in the street will need to get picked up by the resident. If you miss these convenient options or cut‐off dates, you will need to dispose of the leaves via the City’s weekly yard waste collection program. Please see the Naperville.il.us website for more details. • River Run Directory Updates ‐ Sandy Lausas has volunteered to update and maintain the River Run Homeowners Directory, a role previously owned by Alisa Gunthrie who recently stepped down after 10 years. The directory includes information on new residents, various neighborhood services offered (such as babysitting and dog walking) and is published in paper format every two years. Thanks to both Sandy and Alisa for their dedicated service! If you have updates or are a new resident, please look for the Directory Update form in this newsletter. • Homeowner’s Communication Portal ‐ As noted in recent River Run Reporter updates, we are striving to improve communication through our portal. The RealManage portal www.realmanage.com is the preferred communication channel in addition to this newsletter. Given many of you have asked about an online form for reporting compliance violations, we have included the steps to access this form on page 2 of this issue. • Homeowners Board Meeting ‐ Our next HOA Board meeting will be held on Monday, November 26th at 6:30 pm at the River Run Club (rescheduled from November 19th due to Thanksgiving holiday). River Run Club... “A private, social, recreational and fitness club.”
November is a fantastic time of the year to
take a few moments of your busy day and
reflect back to be thankful of all the positive
and good things which have taken place during the past
spring and summer season. The fall colors are stunning
and vibrant as Mother Nature is letting us know that she
will turn things over to ‘Ole Man Winter in a couple of
months.
Here at the Clubhouse, the Beer & Wine/Oktoberfest
event was a huge success as many of the members had
the opportunity to taste wines from around the world.
We had many micro brews available as well which
accented the full roasted pig buffet.
River Run’s annual Spooktacular Halloween Bash
was attended by 200 guests who took part in cookie
decorating, pumpkin painting, pizza buffet and a craft
station. Afterwards the guests took their hot chocolate
or apple cider on a hayride through River Run and made
their own S’mores at the fire pit outside on the front
lawn. A great time was had by all as we had some pretty
scary ghouls and goblins running around the Clubhouse.
Just as a reminder, the Clubhouse opens at 7 am on
Saturday and Sunday mornings to give you early risers a
head start to your day. The Clubhouse will continue to
open at 5:30 am on Monday through Friday. The
Clubhouse will close at 6 pm on Wednesday, November
21 and will be closed all day on Thanksgiving.
On Black Friday, November 23, the River Run
Clubhouse will have the first annual ”STOP BEFORE YOU
SHOP” event. The Clubhouse will open at 7 am and
before all of you early‐bird shoppers get out to the mall,
please feel free to stop by the Clubhouse for a cup of
flavored coffee, bottled juice or pastry to start your day.
The Clubhouse will continue to have a Keurig Coffee
machine available throughout the fall and winter season.
So if you are looking to get away for an hour or two, just
stop by the Clubhouse for a hot cup of coffee while
standing in front of the fireplace in the Lounge Room.
On Sunday, November 25 from 6‐8 pm in the
Clubhouse, River Run will have the annual Tree Lighting
Ceremony. Please be sure to stop by for some hot apple
cider, hot chocolate and some light pastries while
visiting with some of your River Run neighbors.
Speaking of events, with the holidays quickly
approaching, you may want to book your special family
or business event at the Clubhouse. My staff and I are
available to assist you and your guests during the event,
as well as the set up AND clean up. Now you will be able
to really enjoy your holidays with family and friends.
Just be sure to contact Chris or myself at the Clubhouse
to confirm the specific day, date and time for your event.

Holiday decorations for the
Clubhouse will begin on the Friday
and Saturday after Thanksgiving as
the staff and I have a few surprises
in store for the make‐over of the
Clubhouse as we get ready for a visit
from Santa. Brunch with Santa will
be from 10 am to 2 pm on Sunday,
December 16th. Reservations are
required for Santa’s Brunch as this is
generally the most attended event of
the year. Actual times and activities
for this event will be posted in an
email blast which is sent every
Tuesday afternoon. This email blast
is an excellent way for all of the
members to be updated as to the
events and times of any future
events. These events and activities
are also posted on our River Run
Website for your convenience as
well.
As the 2018 fiscal year for the
River Run Club came to a close on
October 31, 2018, the Board of
Directors and myself will be
reviewing fiscal 2018 and working
on the 2019 fiscal budget to be
presented at the Annual Equity
Membership Meeting in January
2019.
Last, but certainly not to be
forgotten, is the nominating of
candidates for the River Run Board
of Directors. There will be (2)
positions available. Any current
member in good standing, wishing
to be on the ballot for the Board of
Directors, MUST have their
completed nomination form turned
into Michael Duncan, Club Secretary
by November 30, 2018. Nomination
forms have been mailed to every full
equity member along with their
statements the first week November.
Additional forms are available at the
clubhouse if needed. The weekly
email blast will remind all members
of this event throughout the month
November.
As I stated in the opening of this
newsletter, this is a perfect time for
me to reflect and be thankful to
work alongside a staff that is truly
dedicated and committed to serving
the membership as well as a Board
of Directors that truly cares about
the well being and comradery of its
members.
Hope to see you soon!
