Pilgrims. The Pilgrims were people who left England and came to America in 1620, because they wanted to practice their religion freely.

They also did not know how to build strong homes. They were very cold.

Over half of the Pilgrims died in the winter of 1620, because they did not know how to survive in America.

are people who lived in America before anyone else.
In the spring of 1621 some Native Americans started to help the Pilgrims grow food and make homes.

The Native Americans showed the Pilgrims how to grow:
pumpkin, squash and corn.

The Native Americans also showed the Pilgrims how to hunt turkey.

In the fall of 1621 the Pilgrims had a lot of food to help them survive the next winter.
