It is an offence to have dogs off-leash in all public areas unless it is a designated free roam area. » Your dog must be under effective control in a free roam area, this means immediate recall response and the owner must carry a lead at all times. » Dogs are prohibited at all times in the Frankston city centre bordered by Fletcher Road, Baxter Street, Davey Street and Kananook Creek. » Dogs are not allowed in the Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre (PARC) precinct (includes Skate Park and Retarding Basin) » Council is authorised to seize dogs if the owner refuses to leave Frankston city centre. Dogs and Cats are prohibited in the following environmentally sensitive areas: » Bunarong Park » Casuarina Reserve » George Pentland Botanic Gardens » Langwarrin Flora and Fauna Reserve » Paratea Reserve » Studio Park DOG POOP Owners of dogs should ensure they have a plastic bag or an acceptable item to clean up after their dogs as failure to do so can result in an infringement being issued. Some reserves/parks and foreshore areas have facilities provided. BEACH Dogs are not permitted on Frankston or Seaford beach during the months of December, January, February and March, between the hours of 9.30am and 7.30pm. Dogs are permitted at other times, provided they are on a lead. Dogs must be on-leash within 10 metres of: » an organised sporting event » children's playground » barbecue / picnic area Please obey all signs in place Please respect sporting teams by: » picking up after your dog » using alternative areas if training / games are underway Please note: There are no fenced areas in the free roam parks.
