THE SCHOOLFirst Presbyterian Day School, established in 1970, is an independent Christ-centered college preparatory school whose purpose is to educate and equip students to change the world for God’s glory. "e school has two campuses. "e main campus is located on 102 acres in the suburbs of Macon and serves over 1,000 students from pre-kindergarten (age 3) through twel#h grade. "e downtown campus is located on Mulberry Street in downtown Macon and serves students in 3K through kindergarten. First Presbyterian Day School’s Elementary School was named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 2003 by the US Department of Education. In 2012, FPD’s Middle School received this same prestigious honor.

"e goal of the FPD educational process is to impact the world by preparing our students for our nation’s !nest universities. Achieving this goal requires a curriculum that exposes students to a thoughtful sequence of study, building a foundation of knowledge in each discipline and encouraging thoughtful analysis and application. As a Christ-centered college preparatory school, we o$er an academically challenging curriculum underpinned by sound biblical principles. "ese same principles guide the administration of the school.

At First Presbyterian Day School we seek not only to develop the mind of each student but to mold character as well. We unite with parents in their e$orts to challenge their children to take responsibility for independent learning and thinking, to develop godly discernment and the resolve to make tough decisions for what is right and good, and to grow in maturity toward accepting responsibility for their actions. We believe that tomorrow’s leaders will possess not only bright minds but also sound character.

ACCREDITATIONFPD is accredited by AdvancEd (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools), the Southern Association of Independent Schools, and is certi!ed by the Council of Educational Standards and Accountability. In addition to College Board, GHSA, GISA, GSCA, and SACAC, our school holds membership in the National Association of College Admission Counselors and complies with their Statement of Principles of Good Practice. "e school also holds membership in professional subject area organizations such as NCTM, NSTA, IRA, AAHPERD, ISTE, NCSS as well as the Educational Records Bureau.

STUDENTS & FACULTYFPD’s 2014/2015 enrollment is 1011. "irteen of the current high school students are attending FPD as international students as part of an international residential program. "e class of 2015 contains 90 students. FPD’s faculty and sta$ is led by Headmaster Gregg "ompson, who has been at the helm for eighteen years, along with Assistant Headmaster, Dr. Barry Shealy, who has been with the school for seventeen years. More than 70% of faculty have a master’s degree or higher. Many faculty members are active in state and national organizations and all frequently attend professional growth activities.

1-TO-1 TECHNOLOGYIn 2013, FPD introduced the 1-to-1 Technology Initiative. Beginning in 3K, students are introduced to digital platforms that enhance FPD’s curriculum. In the lower grades, students use iPads to supplement their lessons while students in grades 5-12 use a school supplied Lenovo X230’s to perform their classwork, homework, and note taking. "e 1-to-1 Technology Initiative promotes critically engaged learning, meaningful and creative expression, connection to the teacher, and re!nement of technology skills and abilities. It also allows greater access to educational content and opportunities to instruct students on 21st century issues.

COMMUNITY SERVICEFPD students are required to have 120 hours of community service in ninth through twel#h grades for graduation. FPD fosters a love for service as early as elementary school through volunteerism. "e Class of 2014 accumulated 12,405 total hours and served 70 di$erent agencies. "is equates to an average of 43 hours per student more than the required amount.

CENTER FOR DISCOVERYIn 2014, FPD introduced the Center for Discovery, a beyond-the-classroom learning experience for students and adults that is open to the community. "e Center for Discovery’s engaging classes and programs promote expanded learning and creative thinking in a Christ-centered environment.
