The fossa is a mammal. It is part of the mongoose family.
INTRODUCTION
The fossa lives in the forests of
Madagascar. Madagascar is in Africa. It has two
seasons. The rainy and dry season.
HABITAT
The fossa has a large nose, large eyes, and round ears. To me it is cute!
LOOKS LIKE
The fossa is a meat eater. It
eats birds, reptiles, insects, and amphibians.
I'm glad we don’t eat those!
DIET
The fossa is more active at night than at day. One word to
describe that is nocturnal. People are not nocturnal.
BEHAVE
The fossa can run 35 mph!!!! It weighs 7kg-12kg. There is only 1 type of species. They live from 15 – 20 years. The femals have a litter of 2
cubs. You can help the fossa because it is an endangered species!
