1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Jesons Industries Ltd. is one of the Largest Acrylic Emulsion Manufacturer in India with growing
Exports into high growth markets in East Asia, Africa and Middle East and have achieved a
turnover of Rs. 4952 Mn (USD 80 Mn).
The Company is in the adhesive business since past three decades having a multi-location
manufacturing setup to cater demands from different geographies with proximity to customers.
These include 2 manufacturing units at Daman (Western India) and 2 at Roorkee (Northern
India).
The Company has a Leading market position in Pressure Sensitive Adhesives (PSA) and is
amongst five manufacturer of Coating Emulsions in India. Products are used in industries such
as Tapes, Labels, Decorative Paints, Construction Chemicals, Textiles, Furniture and Flocking.
With the growing demand, the unit proposes to expand the existing manufacturing unit (Existing
capacity 41400 TPA with 6 nos products) in terms of increase in production capacity (Proposed
capacity change in product mix 183000 with 10 nos products) within the existing premises at SF
Acres/3.13 Ha). The site is located within Thervoykandigai SIPCOT Industrial Park. The nearest
railway station is Gummidipoondi which is 14.8 Km. SIPCOT Industrial land allotment order
enclosed as Annexure 1.
The Plant is operating with existing environmental clearance (F. No. J-11011/409/2014-IA-II(I)
dated: 17th February, 2016) from MoEF&CC enclosed as Annexure 2 and Consent for
Establishment & Consent for Operation from TNPCB enclosed as Annexure 3.
The Project is located within the Thervoykandigai SIPCOT Industrial Park, As per EIA
Notification, 2006 and subsequent Amendments the proposed Project falls under the General
Conditions (inter-state boundaries Tamil Nadu – Andhra Pradesh at a distance of 4.05 km
towards NW) Category A, schedule 5 (f) Synthetic Organic chemicals. The Project Summary
given in Table 1-1.

2. INTRODUCTION OF THE PROJECT
2.1 Identification of the Project and Project Proponent

as Tapes, Labels, Decorative Paints, Construction Chemicals, Textiles, Furniture and Flocking.
6. Water proofing compounds and Construction emulsions
The manufacturing process consist of addition of specified quantities of different raw Materials
as per the application of Finished Products. The Raw Materials are taken in a reactor and are
gradually heated up to 90 to 95 degree centigrade. Certain additives like emulsifier, antioxidant,
wetting and antifoaming agents are added. After the completion of reaction the material is
filtered and stored in a separate tank. During the manufacturing operations different tests are

conducted to get the desired quality of end product.

3.6 Raw Materials Requirement
Manufacturer of Synthetic Adhesives, Vinyl Acetate & Acrylic Emulsions, The manufacturing

3.7 Resource optimization
3.7.1 Water Requirement
The Total raw water requirement for the proposed project is 393 KLD, Fresh water requirement
is 376.5 KLD. The required water will be met from the SIPCOT. Details of water requirement

3.7.2 Power Requirement
The power requirement for the project is sourced from TNEB, Power Back DG sets. The details
of power requirement is given in Table 3-4.

Scrubber is used for process stack which is attached with thermo pack heater where furnace oil
is used as fuel. Thermo pack heater is placed in covered building and maintained properly to
avoid fugitive emissions. Transport vehicles will be properly maintained to reduce air emissions.
Vehicles will be periodically checked for pollutant emissions against stipulated norms. Idle
running of vehicles will be minimized during material loading / unloading operations.
There may be small amount of suspended dust particles in air during construction phase which
will be controlled by dust suppression measures like sprinkling of water. Gases generated
during welding of steel structures will be negligible and will pose no risk to environment. The Air
pollution sources are given in Table 3-5.

3.8 Waste Management and Disposal Method
3.8.1 Liquid Waste Management

There is no process effluent generation for the proposed project as it is polymerization reaction.
Sewage is generated from domestic use and effluent is generated from floor and vessel
washings, scrubber, DM plant etc. The sewage generated is treated in Sewage Treatment Plant
of 7 KLD and the treated sewage is used for green belt development. The effluent is treated in
ETP of 19 KLD and Evaporator of 9.5 KL capacity. The treated effluent is used for cooling tower
make up and floor washings. Zero liquid discharge system is proposed for the project.
3.8.2 Hazardous and Solid Waste Management

During the Construction phase, solid waste will be generated. Construction waste will be reusedto the maximum possible and excess will be disposed through authorized vendors.

4.2 Land form, Land use and Land ownership
The proposed expansion project is located at SF No. 32/2 & 33/2(a) Plot No. A-4/2 Part (B),
Therovoykandigai village, Gummidipoondi Taluk, Thiruvallur District – 601 202 and Tamil Nadu
State. The total land area is 7.75 Acres (3.13 Ha). Existing Factory coverage area is 5513 Sq.m,
Green belt utilized 2.69 Acres of (34.79%). The proposed expansion Factory coverage area is
4584.5 Sq. m and therefore future expansion is 0.47 Acres of (6.12 %). Available land area is
utilized for building, plant, road and pavement, green belt, landscaping uses. Land documents
enclosed as Annexure 1.

expansion site layout is enclosed as Annexure 4.

Soil in the area have been classified into i) Red soil ii) Black soil iii) Alluvial soil iv) colluvial soil.
The major part is covered by Red soil of red sandy/clay loam type. Ferrugineous red soils are
also seen at places. Black soils are deep to very deep and generally occur in the depressions
adjacent to hilly areas, in the western part. Alluvial soils occur along the river courses and
eastern part of the coastal areas. Sandy coastal alluvium (arenaceous soil) are seen all along
the sea coast as a narrow belt.

6.2 Green belt
The total site area is 7.75 acres (3.13 Ha). The green belt is 2.69 acres i.e 34.79 % of the total
land area.
6.4 Connectivity
The project site is SH 51 periyapalayam to puttur 6.7 km towards South and SH 52 Kverapettai
to Sathyavedu 5.49 km towards North. Nearest railway station is Gummidiponndi 14.58 km
towards East.
6.5 Drinking Water Management
Drinking water facility is available. Jesons has RO plant to generate drinking and process water
which we store in a storage tank. Water quality analysis is done on regular basis at in-house
Quality Control dept and periodically analysis is done at external approved laboratory.
6.6 Sewerage system
Sewage is generated from domestic use and it’s treated in Sewage Treatment Plant of 7 KLD
and the treated sewage is used for green belt development.
6.7 Social Infrastructure
The proposed project is to expand the existing manufacturing unit & increase in production
capacity with addition of product mix within the existing premises. The site is located within
