WORKSHOP DETAILS Ultrasound Education Group, The University of Melbourne Email: [email protected] Web: heartweb.com.au Contact +61-3-8344-5673 Workshops are designed for all doctors and health care providers who wish to learn how to use Point-of-Care (POC) ultrasound to assist diagnosis (cardiac, lung, abdomen) and to guide percutaneous procedures (vascular access and surgical drains). FUSE Vascular Access Simulator Course Use ultrasound to guide insertion of venous and arterial catheters to increase success and reduce the risk of complications. The course covers ultrasound-guided cannulation of central and peripheral veins (internal jugular, subclavian, femoral, PICC) and arteries (femoral, brachial and radial). FCU Transoesophageal Echocardiography Simulator Course (FCU TOE) Learn practical skills in transoesophegeal echocardiography. This course is also suitable for those seeking training in cardiac anaesthesia and intensive care. FCU Peri-Arrest Simulator Course Systematic diagnosis of conditions that cause peri-arrest and cardiac arrest, including ultrasound of the heart, lung and abdomen. Good knowledge-base reinforced with practical skills using ultrasound simulators. FCU Transthoracic Echocardiography Simulator Course (FCU TTE) Learn practical skills in focused transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), also known as focused cardiac ultrasound (FCU). Reinforced learning on both normal and pathology cases relevant to anaesthesia, critical care and cardiac surgery. For the Peri-arrest course basic training in focused cardiac ultrasound (transthoracic echocardiography TTE) is a pre-requisite, eg. FCU TTE or iHeartScan™. Focused Ultrasound Simulator Education (FUSE) eLearning Packages The Ultrasound Education Group has developed simulator courses that offers a structured learning package which integrates eLearning with simulators to reinforce practical components. Most of the course is self-directed learning by the participants.
