« …These dentin deposits were thus created duringpreparation of the root canals, and they adhered tenaciouslyin surface cracks, despite extensive ultrasonic cleaningbefore SEM examination. Kuhn et al. (2001) very regularly observed traces frommanufacturing and other defects on the surface of newrotating NiTi instruments. Under repeated stress, thesedefects would develop into cracks which can grow andlead to breakage from fatigue or rupture stress.
