We encourage you to use these for personal study or for small group conversations around the sermon text. You can meet over the phone or online with one or two other people to go through these questions and to pray together.

1. Read Judges chapter 15. What stands out to you in this story?

2. What questions come to mind as you read?

3. In verse 11, the men of Judah hand Samson over to

the Philistines. What does this show about how they see the Philistines? What does it show about how they see God?

4. As a church, we are called to be a transformational presence in the world. However, like in Judges 15, we can also lose our sense of identity as the people of God. How can we choose to live as a transforming presence in our neighbourhoods?

5. Alan Hirsh points out in his video that we are all being discipled by something. He believes that consumerism is the alternate religion of our day. Watch the video here How is being a consumer different from being a disciple of Jesus? How might a consumerist mentality shape how we see the church?

6. Judges 15 reminds us that God’s kingdom is coming and cannot be stopped, even in the face of human blindness and rebellion. What is the evidence of God’s in-breaking kingdom in our world today?
