THE IDEAI was browsing among many different artists to try and figure out what my idea

was for this project specifically. I find that my most successful ideas are happen when I incorporate photography, and as I have continued my studies here at Towson have discovered that I have grown a liking to take portraits of people. I enjoy portraiture photos because its an experience for you and the people whom you photography, I wanted this all to be apparent in my project. I did my research on different photographers and artists and I have taken the elements from 3 different artists, Warhol, Holzer and Leibovitz. I know that Leibovitz uses elements to create a story or make someone feel comfortable. My idea for this project is to recreate a yearbook page and turn it into something that doesn’t focus on the face of the portraits but more so what this person. During the portraits that I take I ask several questions to the people while I am taking their photography. The follow slides will include the elements that I am taking from the artists that I have listed. I found that using text for this project will be very easy and fun to do, being a double major in English I have been researching poetry to use for this project. The sketches I have in this show the different ideas I am coming along with for this project. There are many ways I have thought about doing this I want to include the color that these people would describe themselves as. I want them to be comfortable, but mostly I do not want them to reveal their faces. The point of this remodeled artistic yearbook is for people to be remembered by the elements that make them up and not be judged or defined by what they look like. That’s the fault in all yearbooks and I want to recreate it and make it a piece of work. I am doing two rows of three portraits of different people that I have interviewed.
