Chosen Genre

• I have chosen the thriller genre for my film. • I decided on this genre because thriller films often rely on

tension and suspense as a large part of their narrative and I think I could successfully create these effects in my film opening.

• I don’t have access to advanced locations or props, but the thriller genre doesn’t require these to be realistic therefore I feel I can create a successful film opening within the thriller genre.

Film Overview

• My film include a key antagonist and a key protagonist like every thriller film.

• The antagonist will be a kidnapper who targets teenage girls and it will be up to the protagonist to find these girls and save them before they get hurt.

• The protagonist will be someone of authority possibly a policeman because he will have training and know how to deal with criminals.

• The narrative will follow the antagonist as he takes all these girls and it will follow the protagonist as he attempts to stop the antagonist.

Film Opening

• The opening 2 minutes of my film will include the first kidnapping the antagonist makes.

• It will begin with an establishing shot of the location.• It will include a range of shots of the antagonist following a

teenage girl on her way home and then eventually catching up with her and taking her.

• It will be filmed in the field the victim is walking through and continue being filmed through the street until she reaches her house.

• Once she is at her house the antagonist will have caught up with her. He will come up behind her and drag her away.

Target Audience

• My target audience is adults because the film will have a 15 certificate.

• My film wont be appropriate for children as it will be tense and scary in parts. My narrative of kidnapping is quite a sensitive/serious topic which is why the film will not be suitable for young people.
