Organise Your Files
How much time do you waste looking for information you need?
How do you organise your documents?
Reduce information overload
•Don’t
•waste time looking for things
•lose important information
•end up with piles of physical and virtual clutter
You need a system
A place for everything...
•Files go into folders
•Folders can go into larger folders
•Use a logical system for your files
•e.g. Semester 1/Psychology/PS101/Assignment 1/
•College server “X Drive” (access your files on any computer on campus)
•Memory sticks (use for transfer, not storage)
•The ‘cloud’ (storing files online e.g. Google Docs, Gmail storage)
Location, location, location
x:/x:/x:/x:/
Backup!
•All drives fail eventually
•Make copies of important files
•Memory sticks only for transport
