Greetings, Our New Year’s Eve Party at Rollhaven in Flushing was a success with 96 members and guests in attendance. There was a 50/50 raffle and we gave away 17 bottles of wine. The delicious food was provided by Redwood Lodge cooks; but, we didn’t have enough (something to work on for next year) so I ordered pizza for everyone later in the evening. The desserts were scrumptious too. Angela kept the floor full of dancers all night playing a variety of good music. We counted down to midnight with a balloon drop when the clock struck 12:00. I want to thank Ed Warren for suggesting we move the DJ table onto the dance floor. This made Angela and Doug more a part of the party. He also let us use his extra cables to make this possible. On January 13 th , I attended the ABA (American Bop Association) meeting in Nashville to represent our club. Paul Hennessey was voted in as Vice President and Judy Ciaramitaro as secretary. They will hold office for the next two (2) years. Bud Waters, President informed us our music licensing is up-to-date and has been paid by every club. I want to remind all current club members your 2018 membership dues must be paid by February 28 th in order to maintain your membership. The application is available on our website: glsdc.net and is included in this newsletter. Don’t forget we’re celebrating Valentine’s Day at Rollhaven on February 14 th . February’s dance lesson is West Coast Swing taught by Terry Council. Here’s the DJ lineup: Dave, Ed, Henry and Joann.
