In addition to this, the North Western and Central Provinces would greatly benefit from the project as a safe, fast and cheap mode of transportation linking the port of Colombo with Kurunegala and Dambulla with provision for extension further north is provided and this will be a boon and a valuable asset to the economic development of the nation.
