DescriptionThe FAN7380 is a monolithic half-bridge gate drive IC forMOSFETs and IGBTs, which operate up to +600V.Fairchild’s high-voltage process and common-modenoise canceling technique give stable operation of high-side driver under high-dv/dt noise circumstances. Anadvanced level-shift circuit allows high-side gate driveroperation up to VS=-9.8V (typical) for VBS=15V. Theinput logic level is compatible with standard TTL-serieslogic gates. The internal shoot-through protection circuitprovides 100ns dead-time to prevent output switchingdevices from both conduction during transition periods.UVLO circuits for both channels prevent malfunctionwhen VCC and VBS are lower than the specifiedthreshold voltage. Output drivers typically source/sink at90mA/180mA, respectively, which is suitable forfluorescent / compact fluorescent lamp ballastapplications and the systems that require low di/dt noise.
