What’s New in Community Ed?CHECKredi New Process for Collection of Returned Checks - Saline Area Schools collects payments from families and the community in a variety of ways, but most often, payment is made by check. We recognize that occasionally a parent or community member may inadvertently overdraw a checking account and a check may be returned by your bank. In order to recover these funds in a private and professional manner, we have contracted with CHECKredi, LLC, a company based in Lexington, Kentucky for collection of returned checks. When a check is written and made payable to the district, the person writing the check agrees that, if the check is returned that it may be represented electronically on the same account, and that the fee established by law, now $25.00 in addition to the face value, may be debited from the same account. If not collected within the initial 7 days, the fee will increase to $35.00. CHECKredi will contact you by mail and by telephone in order to make arrangements to pay before attempting to represent the check electronically. Payments may be made to CHECKredi’s office by mail to P.O. Box 11848, Lexington, KY 40578. Payments of the check and fee may also be made online at www.checkredi.com using a credit card, debit card or electronic check without any additional fees. For a convenience fee, payments may be made over the telephone at (866) 433-7334 by credit card, debit card or electronic check.

Choi Kwang Do ChildrenInstructor: Randy and Dot StoddardWe understand that children have a shorter attention span. Our unique program uses interesting and enjoyable methods to keep student’s attention and teach life-long skills. Students will learn confidence, self-discipline, and control as they learn how to act and react to the world around them. Our young students are treated with respect and are taught to return the same respect to others. Aggressive children are taught how to channel aggression, and shy or withdrawn children are helped to connect with others. We believe in praise, encouragement, and positive reinforcement, and have incentives for good academic reports as well as good behavior at home. We teach children the value of setting goals and achieving them. Parents are encouraged to view every class. This is a continuous program. New students may sign up at any time during the session (pro-rate). Note:Added fees apply if the student wishes to test.

This league is designed for both beginning and experienced players, and no previous volleyball experience is required. The league is open to all boys and girls in grades 5-8 and will be co-ed. Beginning the week of October 13, practices will be held once a week on weekdays and will run for approximately an hour and a half. Practice times and locations will vary from team to team. It is possible for practice to start as early as 6:00 p.m. and will end no later than 9:00 p.m. Games will be scheduled on Saturdays beginning on October 25 and ending on December 6. Coaches will contact each player by October 10 and let them know their exact practice time and location. If there are times that you absolutely cannot practice, please list them on your registration form and every attempt will be made to place your child on a team that will not practice at that time. The fee is $75. Players cannot participate without a reversible player jersey. Returning players may use their jersey from last year (location of where to purchase Jerseys is TBA). Volunteers are needed to coach each team. Head coaches must be adults and should have a basic knowledge of volleyball and a desire to help kids learn. Assistant coaches are also needed and limited one per team. Your help is greatly needed and appreciated, as the league would not be possible without the help of volunteer coaches. Coaches will be able to choose a practice day and time that best fits their schedule. The coaches meeting will be Wednesday, October 1, 7-8 p.m. at Liberty School.
