Fitness & Recreation Fall 2016 Program Guide GROUPx at the J The J offers a variety of group exercise classes. Schedules are available online at www.lvjcc.org or in paper format at the J. Barre Fusion - Combines balance, agility, resistance, working recovery and eloquence. Bars - Sculpt, tone, and strengthen your entire body with low weight and high reps. Chair Yoga - A comfortable and accessible yoga class for beginners and the independently mobile. Circuit - A series of stations of exercises to build strength and muscular endurance. Core and More - A combination of pilates for the core and upper body and leg work using dumbbells. Cycling - Cardio workout on indoor bikes. Cycle Fusion - 30 - 40 minutes of cycling, followed by strength, core and stretch. Fitness Ball 2.0 - Strength training and stretching while integrating the physio ball. Kickboxing - Combine cardio, boxing, and martial arts. Pilates - Strengthen and tone with this low/no impact workout. Pilates Fusion - A fusion of pilates, yoga, and barre that combines strength, toning, and flexibility. Fitness Yoga - Yoga that combines strength, endur- ance, balance, and flexibility. Silver Sneakers Classic - Designed to increase muscu- lar strength, range of motion, and daily living activities. Tabata Tone - Multiple tabatas make this a quick effec- tive total body workout. Tai Chi / QiGong - A series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. Total Body Toning - A Bootcamp style class that com- bines circuits for different muscle groups using varied reps and intervals. HIIT - Interval training that delivers a drenching work- out and post metabolic boost. Yoga - Spiritual discipline including breath control, simple meditation, and postures. Youth Fitness Youth Strength & Conditioning Training (11 - 16 years) There’s no better time than adolescence to begin a good strength and conditioning training program. Take the first step towards athletic success and a well-balanced lifestyle. The session will end with games. Session 1: Mondays (9/12 - 10/24) no class on 10/3, 10/17, 10/24 Price: $48 | JCC MVP: $40 Session 2: Mondays (10/31 - 12/19) Price: $140 | JCC MVP: $128 4:00pm - 5:00pm JHoops Skills & Drills Basketball Clinic (3rd - 8th Grade) Join Coach T and friends as we learn the correct fundamentals of basketball which will help with skill development, positive attitude and sportsmanship through drills and games. Junior Squash(6 - 15 years)Our popular Jr. Squash program, led by head instructor Eric Boyer and his team, will provide training and play for participants with each session focusing on critical elements of the game. Participants will also scrimmage against regional squash teams. Travel scrimmage schedule will be available in October. Adult leagues, clinics, round robins will also be available at the J. Jewish-Focused Aging Mastery Program (J-AMP) J-AMP is a 12-week program designed to support baby boomers and older adults in making the most of their gift of longevity. J-AMP combines goal-setting, daily practices, and peer support to help participants make meaningful changes in their lives. The program includes expert speakers, group discussion and various levels of mastery aimed at improving the aging process. The series includes two sessions that connect Jewish spirituality and wisdom with actions proven to improve health and well-being. The series curriculum consists of 12 sessions.
