FACTS ABOUT THE ALBUQUERQUE RAPID TRANSIT (ART) PROJECT ART is a complex project that will cover almost nine miles of Central Avenue. Through 18 public meetings and more than 6,600 contacts with individual stakeholders, the ART team has been receiving input that has shaped the overall design. ART improvements include wider sidewalks wherever feasible, a net increase in the number of trees, preservation of on-street parking, improved accessibility and new pedestrian crossings. The overall result will be a safer, more walkable and rejuvenated Central Avenue. The figures below show how the ART fits into Central Avenue with and without a station. Travel lanes and sidewalk widths will vary along the corridor. Figure 1. Section @ Tulane Figure 2. FACTS ABOUT THE ALBUQUERQUE RAPID TRANSIT (ART) PROJECT

ART is a complex project that will cover almost nine miles of Central Avenue. Through 18 public

meetings and more than 6,600 contacts with individual stakeholders, the ART team has been receiving

input that has shaped the overall design. ART improvements include wider sidewalks wherever

feasible, a net increase in the number of trees, preservation of on-street parking, improved accessibility

and new pedestrian crossings. The overall result will be a safer, more walkable and rejuvenated Central

Avenue.

The figures below show how the ART fits into Central Avenue with and without a station. Travel lanes

and sidewalk widths will vary along the corridor.
