SCHOLARSHIP & AWARDS

Duane G. Cornell Scholarship Awarded to a student who most demonstrates the qualities of honesty, loyalty and quality. Scholarship is in memory of Duane G. Cornell, a local businessperson who owned his own automotive business by age 18 and lived daily by these three traits.

Jon Dawes Memorial Award Awarded to a Graphics & Visual Communications student exemplifying the ideals Jon Dawes brought to his classroom. Strong effort, pride in the program, and positive and caring attitude for fellow students.

Matthew D. Plunkett Memorial Scholarship Awarded to a student who demonstrates exceptional enthusiasm for Automotive Technology, is hard working, and is continuing their education at a college or technology school. Scholarship is in memory of Matthew D. Plunkett, a 2009 graduate of the Auto Technology Program

Martin Munson Memorial Award Awarded to a senior who exemplifies growth in achievement; growth in citizenship; growth in chosen occupation.

Maureen VanBuren Memorial Scholarship & Award Awarded to a student in the Early College High School/P-Tech Program who plans to further his/her studies through college or technical school. The student exhibits a strong work ethic, a generous spirit, a true passion for their field of study, and demonbstrates dedication for their community and family.

Myers Education Center Guidance Award Awarded to the most outstanding student at the Myers Education Center. It is based on leadership in the classroom, excellent attendance and grades, and SkillsUSA or FFA participation. The recipient will be going on to further their education in a related field and will be the student speaker at the Completion Ceremony.

Saratoga County School Boards Association Award Awarded to (1) student from Saratoga County and is recognized for their commitment to their community.

Southern Adirondack BOCES Employee Association Awarded to three (3) students who are members of the (SABEA) Scholarship National Technical Honor Society and are pursuing further education in a

related field. The "Driven Award", Galusha and Sons, Inc. Awarded to (1) student independently driven with ambition to accomplish

goals, with passion in the field they are seeking with vision for their future. Thomas E. Baker Memorial Award Awarded to (2) Auto Technology students who possess the characteristics

of a strong work ethic and dedidcation in the field of autmotive technology, desire to help others in need and show compassion, a plan to further their education at the college level and a financial need to be able to pursue their education.
