Evangelism Requires Motivation

• Love of God– Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God– Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is

eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord– John 3:16 – For God so loved

• Have we experienced "the love of the Father" in our lives?– If so, how can we not be moved (motivated) to want to share it with

others?

• Am I Ashamed? (Hide it under a bushel – NO!)– I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ … (Romans 1:16)– We can’t be a secret disciple like Joseph of Arimathea (John 19:38)– We must “confess” -- Romans 10:9 (salvation), Luke 12:8 (before men)

• Compassion for lost souls (Mt 9:35-36)

– Think of what the Apostles (and others) gave up • Travel• Prison• Ship wreck• Etc…

• Do I care?– We have the “Good News” (cure for a terminal condition)
