What have you learnt about technologies?

For my front cover I developed my skills on Photoshop to achieve the look of my final magazine. I leant how to use the Polygonal Lasso Tool. I used it to cut around my main image and crop the background out. This meant I could experiment with different backgrounds of my choice. I then used the eraser tool to smooth the edges of my image. I also learnt about the different effects I could add to my image giving it different looks. I added the effect ‘Outer Glow’ to again smooth the edges of the image. I learnt how to use the 3D tool on my mast-head to give it a shadowed look.

I leant how to play with my text on my front cover. I wanted the cover lines to be all different sizes, fonts and colours. This is because I wanted it to follow the conventions of a music magazine. I learnt how to space out my words to fit the boxes by using this tool.

What have you learnt about technologies?

I learnt how to make things stand out more by using back boxes and shapes. When creating my shapes I learnt how to make to increase the exterior thickness of the shape and to change the colour of it. This made certain things stand out more on my front cover. I used the circle

took for the bulletin on the left hand side of my magazine and then the rectangle shape at the top of the front page.

For my other image on my contents page I learnt how to experiment with the brightness and exposure to achieve the certain gradient I wanted. I again used the

shape tools to make things stand out. I learnt how to change the thickness of them. I created one red line to go under each of the sub-headings and then learnt how to copy each one so the process was quicker.

I created a different logo (Which has the exact same meaning) for my contents page. I did this again through using shapes. I used the rectangle tool and then added my text in to it.

I got the big ‘A’ at the back of my text by using the expanding text tool.

I was able to experiment with different point percentages to get the exact size I wanted for it to fit on the whole page.

I learnt how to use to brightness and exposure to get this black and white effect.

I used the line tool to create my border. I learnt how to make each line the same thickness. However I wanted them to be at different lengths vertically so I learnt how to make them longer and then applying transformation.

Publishing posts

I learnt how to use different sites to put all my posts together on my blog. For my word documents I learnt about the site called slideshare. It allows all my documents to be kept together as well as view them like a slide show.

I also learnt how to use prezi. It allowed me to show all my ideas about my music magazine creatively; allowing me to create a page with my own colours and fonts.
