Evaluation: Question 6What have you learnt about

technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Page 2: Evaluation: Question 6

Adobe PhotoShop CS4

• Adobe PhotoShop is a professional software. It worked fast and efficiently for me to create creative images fast and effectively.

• I learned how to export images and convert them to JPEG’s when using Adobe PhotoShop.

• I learned how to put depth into my images by using the colour gradient tool effectively. This made my images more appealing.

• I learned it was compatible with Final Cut Express too because I set it RGB mode in order to integrate my images into my product.

Final Cut Express

• Luckily, Final Cut Express is a fantastic piece of software that was very flexible and allowed me to create videos fast and efficiently.

• I learned how to import sounds and photos in order to integrate them into my videos.

• Putting sequences into chronological order became easier when I learned how rearrange the video timeline.

• I learned how to render my sequences when the sounds and images aren’t compatible within my video.

• I learned how to incorporate effects into my video to make my videos more appealing to watch. This then led to learning how to make them longer and shorter for a range of variety.

Final Cut Express(Capturing Footage & Editing)

• When using Final Cut Express I learned how to extract the raw footage from a camera onto the software.

• I then learned how to divide this raw footage into different sequences so that my videos were organised.

• I found the open and closing arrows effective when slicing up my raw footage because it added less to the timeline when I was editing.

• When working with sound I learned how to change the sound levels by using the pen tool. I then applied this to my video because I use the pen tool to fade in and out of intertitles.

Blogspot

• I have found www.blogspot.com very useful whilst producing my product because it has enabled me to organise my work and show my progression in a clear way.

• I learned how to re-arrange blog posts and edit them in order to show my content clearly.

• I learned how to edit the HTML and then embed Prezi’s, PowerPoints, and videos from Youtube in my blog.

Page 6: Evaluation: Question 6

Prezi

• www.prezi.com was a very useful website because it was very straight forward and portrayed my work in an interesting way.

• I leanred how to edit my Prezi’s and import images into it. This then led to moving text and images in order to organise my Prezi.

• I learned how to add a path so that my text and images were seen in chronological order.

• After doing all this and finishing a Prezi, I could link my knowledge that I learned from blogspot in order to embed my Prezi into a blog post.

Page 7: Evaluation: Question 6

SlideShare

• www.slideshare.com was a useful technology because it allowed me to covert PowerPoints so that they were more compatible to embed within my Blog.

• I learned how to create an account and then upload PowerPoint files effectively and quickly.

• I found Slideshare relatively easy to use because it works in the same way Youtube does. This then made it easier and it was very compatible with Blogspot and Prezi’s.

Youtube

• I have worked with www.youtube.com independently before I started my product. However, this still didn’t mean I didn’t learn more about how it works.

• I learned how to upload videos in there correct format so that I could embed them into my blog posts.

• I learned how to edit the information about my video.• I found it very useful by learning more about video

which video formats worked best with Youtube, meaning I could create videos in the right format to make them more compatible for uploading.

GoAnimate

• I didn’t know of www.goanimate.com before starting my evaluation. However, I found it a useful technology because it was another way of presenting my work.

• I learned how to create quick animations and add voices to mimic real speech by target audience.

• I learned how to change the backgrounds and add characters to portray different types of people.

• I think GoAnimate is something I will be using a lot more in the future because it was easy to embed my animations into my Blog.

Garage Band• Garage Band was a vital use of software when producing my product because it was easy to use and

incorporate into my videos. • I learned how to create effective soundtracks that worked in unison with my video effectively because

there was a multiple choice of sounds to re-arrange. • I learned how to create my soundtracks and then export them as a MP3 file that could then be imported in

Final Cut Express for editing.• Overall, it was a vital software that made my product have an effect that was needed for my target

audience to like.

Page 11: Evaluation: Question 6

Camera & Tripod• It was essential that I used certain hardware in order to create my

product. • I learned how to change tapes and reset certain aspects of a camera so

that I could record my footage in the best way possible.• I then worked with a tripod to support my camera and keep it steady in

order to capture precise footage.• I learned how to change the lighting properties on a camera so that I

could capture footage in better qualities when I was in the dark. • Lastly, when I was capturing handheld footage, I learned how to reduce

hand shake by holding the camera inwards. This then locked my arms and held the camera steady.

Page 12: Evaluation: Question 6

In conclusion, I found all of these software's and devices extremely useful when producing my product. There was such a broad range of different technologies that were available for me to use when I was presenting my work through blog posts. They also made my blog more appealing and made me feel proud of my progression

because it all led up to my final product.

Using hardware was vital too. This is because I had to use a camera and tripod in order to make my actual product. Without that then

my software would be useless.

Lastly, all of this was due to learning how the MAC Computers worked. I have learned so much about this technology because

they are so compatible with all of the software I have been using. If I was to do this project again I would use a MAC because they

are great for making quick reflection photos too.
