HOW DID YOU USE REAL MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES IN THE CONSTRUCTION AND

RESEARCH, PLANNING AND EVALUATION STAGES?

Over the period of creating our coursework we have use a number

of different real media technologies to help us along the

way.

HD Digital Video Camera

For our A2 coursework we were able to use high definition cameras to record footage rather than using a standard definition camera. This allowed us to film in a higher quality so that it looks more professional.We used the camera in our research and construction. Not only did we use it to film our music video but we also used it to film our audience research. This was a vital piece of technology because without it we could not complete our coursework at all.

Tripod

The tripod was a very important piece of technology because it allowed us to film easily and professionaly. Without it our shots would have been shaky, unsteady and looked rubbish. We used the tripod for mostly the construction but also for research when we filmed our audience research interviews.

iMac

The iMac computers were very important to us as we were using the all of the time because we were using them to search the internet, edit our video and keep a record of our work on blogger. The iMacs were perfect for us as we could use them for research, construction, planning and the evaluation because they contain all of the software that we need such as final cut express, the internet and adobe photoshop. So as you can see it is a vital piece of technology.

Final Cut ExpressFinal cut express was a piece of technology that we used the most throughout our coursework because we used it to edit all of the tasks that we did on camera. My skills of using final cut express improved massively from when I edited the preliminary task to when I edited my final music video. We used this technology for construction in a lot more detail than research because when editing research we only needed to edit in straight cuts with no added extras.

PhotoshopPhotoshop was a very difficult but valuable piece of technology that we used. We only used photoshop for the construction side of the project. Photoshop was very important to us because we used it to make our digipak and magazine advert and we could not of made them without it. To begin with I found it very difficult to use so I was just using it in a very basic way but when I began to understand it more I could use it more effectively. For example using the clone stamp tool.

Slideshare

Slideshare was a piece of technology that I used for planning and my evaluation. I used it so that I could convert my powerpoint presentations in to slideshares so that I could put them on to my blog. For example I used one to show the potential settings props and locations for planning and I am using it to set out my evaluation question.

Prezi

Prezi is a new piece of technology that we found and used it for my evaluation. Prezi is similar to a powerpoint presentation but it can be used in a more effective way and it is more attractive so it can grab the viewers attention more. Because I was new to Prezi I made a couple of practice ones so that I could then use it for one of my evaluation questions.

Still Digital Camera

I used a still digital camera quite often because I used it for taking pictures of our plans and pictures of things like location for research. I also used it so that we could take pictures of us during the construction section for my blog.

Mobile Phone

I did not use a mobile phone very often. I used it so that I could take pictures for planning and research when I didn’t have still digital camera avalable.

Blogger

Blogger is the technology that I used all of the time because I had to be recording my work all of the time. I was able to upload pictures, videos, slide shares and prezi so that I could present all of my work

YouTube

I used YouTube quite a lot for research because it is a very easy way to access music videos so that I could get an idea of what we should be doing. Also it made it very easy for me to look at past students work so that I could see that standard of work and see what other students have in their videos.

Wordle

Wordle is a piece of technology that allowed me to present my research in an attractive way. I used it to display our survey results. Using wordle is a very effective way of presenting information because it shows he information very clearly.

As you can see we used a wide range of technologies to help us in completing our

coursework product.
