Evaluation of My Media ProductWhat is a Social Group?Asocial groupis a collection of people who interact with each other and share similar characteristics and a sense of unity.New Affluent Workers I believe that this social group will be the most likely to buy my magazine as the people in this social group are generally a young class group that are socially and culturally active. They also have middling levels of economic capital.I will also be targeting the Emergent Service Workers as they are a young urban group. This means that they will be mainly attracted to my magazine.Front Cover

Feature Article Photograph: I used this individual on my front cover because he is 17 years of age and shows youth in the magazine so it will attract the right crowd of people.Price: The price I picked is 2.50 because Im aiming my magazine at certain social classes so this would be an ideal price for the magazine.Masthead: I have made the masthead like this because the white stands out on the red and makes it very loud which links with my social group.Cover Lines: I used white for the artist and black for the description of the article because I believe this would relate to the audience I want as it stands out.Contents Page

Flush Right Column: I used the flush right column on my contents page because it follows convention and it makes it look a lot more professional so I think this would bring a wider audience from different social classes.Feature Article Photograph: My Feature article photographs use a people with a variety of ages which would appeal to a wider audience and different social classes.Negative Space: I have left some negative space for good effect, it makes all the colours stand out a lot more.Tone: The text I have used is quite serious and is very informative to the reader which I think would appeal to a wider audience and different social classes (mostly higher).Double Page Spread

Tone: The style of the text is like the contents page and front cover which is quite informative and serious. This would appeal to different social classes but I believe mostly higher social classes.Feature Article Photograph: I have used this as the feature article photograph because the picture is a young 17 year old. This would appeal to the youth a lot more than senior and will bring in a lower form of social class. Drop Cap: I used large letters at the beginning of each paragraph to make it look a little bit more professional and this would probably appeal to higher social classes.
