Question Number 6

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Wikipedia

Wikipedia was a big and a great help in my research of music magazine. I usually search for definitions on wikipedia or read histories about various magazines on wikipedia, How they were made who were there editor, who designed them. Who came up with the idea of a “MAGAZINE” .It is basically a search engine which can give definition, give history or explain anything in this world and this helped me a lot in my whole journey.

Photoshop

• Photoshop is a software which edits photo’s. It is one of the best Software made in the human history. By using photoshop you can easily turn a old person into a young guy or you can remove dimples or change eye colour. You can basically do anything with a photoshop you can change the way people look at pictures. Photoshop is usually a great help in making of a magazine. With the help of photoshop you can add fonts to a picture put in masthead, put in puff or you can add different shapes into a picture. You can make the picture more vibrant and increase or decrease contrast and brightness of the picture. You can insert special effects. It helped me a lot i made my whole magazine’s front cover, double spread page and contents page on photoshop. I inserted puff and fonts using photoshop and made the pictures more vibrant and increased there contrast. Photshop was the most helpful tool and is the best software I used.

Nikon D5000• The D5000 is a 12.3 megapixel DX

format DSLR Nikon F-mount camera The D5000 has many features. It features a 2.7-inch 230,000-dot resolution tilt-and-swivel LCD monitor 920,000 pixel, live view, ISO 200–3200 (100–6400 with Boost), 3D tracking Multi-CAM1000 11-point AF system, active D-Lighting system and automatic correction of lateral chromatic aberration. I used Nikon D5000, a professional camera for my photo session, this photo session helped me in learning a lot about using a professional camera and getting the best out of it. I learnt how to change ISO setting for getting better quality and bright or dark pictures, Using a large variety of camera angles and shots for my pictures changing scenes, especially manually focusing on the model and choosing the best background. By using a proffesional camera, the pictures get more vibrant and colorful rather than a simple camera.

Tripod A tripod was a key piece of

technology for taking photo’s and to give the pictures a sharp look and have still shots so that the pictures wont look terrible. Like the digital camera our skills developed over time so I could take better shots.

Blogger.com Blogger is a blog-publishing service that

allows multi-user blogs with time-stamped entries. It was developed by Pyra Labs, which was bought by Google in 2003. Generally, the blogs are hosted by Googles subdomain of blogspot.com. A user can have up to 100 blogs per account. Blogger.com is the site that each member of my group used to create a blog to show the work that we are doing so that the examiner can see. I have spent a lot of time on blogger.com because we need to be constantly updating it and adding to it. Anybody with access to the internet an look at a blog and comment on it.

Slideshare

• Slideshare has been helpful throughout my journey in making of my media product. It is a great website which helps you in showing and saving your presentations online. You can easily upload them on slideshare and then copy the URL on your blog. This will show a Power point Presentation on your blog without any hassle of installing the software.

Skills I have gained

In This whole process of making a media product. I learned a lot of skills, I learned how to take different camera angles

and different camera shots. I learned how to use a professional camera properly how to take different camera

shots according to different situations and lighting. I learned how to change ISO and manually focus on your object. I also

learned how to use photoshop, how to insert different special effects, fonts, shapes, layers, merge two different

pictures, increase contrast and brightness and finally I learned how to make a proper front cover, double spread

page and contents page of a MUSIC MAGAZINE.
