Page 4: Evaluation

Films we have been inspired by:

Twilight

Jennifer’s Body

We have also used these as our case studies.

CONVENTIONS

Page 5: Evaluation

• Different from the two movies as we have steered towards the topic of love.

• Tried to achieve the same effect of out audience as twilight and Jennifer’s body.

• We have kept it professional by having less continuity errors and by building up tension.

CONVENTIONS

Page 6: Evaluation

We have also challenged the conventions of a normal teen drama by:

• not setting it in high school• Doesn’t have the latest pop music playing in the

background• Attracts audience of both genders – Horror and Romance

• Male lead dies at the beginning

CONVENTIONS

DISTRIBUTORS

Why?• British company• Backed up by Universal• Distributed many

successful movies

Why? • Famous Company • Distributed successful

films such as the Harry Potter movies

• Distributed many movies in the past

Page 12: Evaluation

• If I were to distribute this film internationally I would use Warner Brothers.

• I would like this film to be distributed nationally too however if the movie was released in the UK with not

much back up by a bigger company it may not get a wide range of viewers. I would use Working title to distribute

our film in the UK as it is a British and independent company.

DISTRIBUTION – NATIONALLY OR

INTERNATIONALLY?

Page 13: Evaluation

• I think the best way to distribute the film would be on the internet as its easy find out how popular a movie can

get.

• there are also disadvantages to internet distribution such as piracy.

WAYS OF DISTRIBUTION

Page 14: Evaluation

• Our production will involve a group of teenagers aged

between 15 – 17. • The lead characters will be in

the age gap to attract the attention of similar age groups• Cast of mixed genders and

ethnicity• May attract more female audience but will also attract

males due to elements of horror

ROUGH CUT 1

Page 26: Evaluation

Things to improve:

- story was unclear, need a shot of the boy dead on the floor before flashback

- sound track to match the scenario throughout the opening.

Good things:

-  The shots are good. steady shot was shot well.

- Good use of teenagers for a teenage movie opening

- Good use of colour grading, looks a lot like professional films such as Twilight.
