Descriptive Annex

1 REGULATIONS

The measuring instrument in respect of which this EU-type examination certificate has been issued is subject to the provisions and requirements of the Measuring Instruments Regulations 2016 (S.I. 2016 No. 1153) which implement, in the United Kingdom, Council Directive 2014/32/EU.

2 DESCRIPTION OF THE PATTERN

The pattern is a small, composite, retractable measure, which may be in a case. The blade has a nominal length of 2 m and a nominal width of 12.5 mm, and is made of steel with a sliding hook at the free end. The hook is stamped with the number “1”. The blade has black and red markings on a yellow or white background protected by a clear film. The measure is graduated in millimetres throughout on both edges of the blade with half-centimetres also marked. The centimetre intervals are numbered consecutively from 1 to 9 which are repeated throughout the length of the blade. The 10-centimetre intervals are numbered consecutively throughout. The case is marked “<< 59 mm >>” to allow for internal measurements.
