At the tip the individual crystal are between = 150 and = 400 um thick. Crystals are macroscopically pink colored due to a Mn 2 O 3 content of 0.2-0.7 wt%. The outer rim of the crystals as well as crystals grown in an open crack in the lower part, are macroscopically green epidote with 0.85 to 1.04 Fe 3 * per formula unit, indicating a second growth stage.
