Step 1 After determining the correct orientation of the pump scroll outlet, attach the pump scroll to the pump frame as follows:
a. Place Flat Washer (P/N 95211600), on the 5/16" x 7/8"Screw (P/N 94273914).
b. From the motor side of the vertical mounting plate of thepump frame, insert the 5/16" x 7/8" screws.
c. Install two pieces of the gasket material on the exposedthreaded ends of the mounting screws. Make sure theends of the opposing gasket segments interlock to form acomplete circular gasket.
d. Carefully position the pump scroll against the verticalmounting plate of the pump frame; align and loosely installthe 5/16" x 7/8" screws into the corresponding mountingholes in the pump scroll.
e. While tightening the screws that secure the pump scroll tothe motor frame, periodically spin the impeller to be surethat adequate clearance is maintained between theimpeller blades and the body of the pump scroll.
DetermineOrientation ofPump Scroll
An arrow is affixed to the outside of the pump scroll to indicatethe direction of rotation of the impeller. The standard rotation ofthe impeller is in the counterclockwise direction.Rotation of the impeller is as viewed from the rear of the motoras shown in the Figure below. Note that the pump scrolloutlet must always be positioned at the bottomhorizontal position.

Following installation of the pump scroll to the pump frame, attachthe inlet plate assembly to the pump scroll as follows:
a. Place flat washer on the 5/16" x 7/8" screw.b. Position a single section of the gasket against the face of
the pump scroll; align the clearance holes of the gasketwith the mounting holes of the pump scroll. Loosely installone 5/16" x 7/8" screw through the gasket segment andinto the top center mounting hole of the pump scroll tosupport the gasket.
c. Interlock the remaining gasket segment to the previouslyinstalled gasket segment to complete the circular gasket.
d. Orient the inlet plate assembly as shown above. The1/8"(3mm) NPT plug should face directly upward, and the1"(25mm) NPT plug should face directly downward.Carefully position the top center mounting notch of theinlet plate assembly to engage the mounting screwpositioned in step "b" above.
e. Install the seven remaining 5/16" x 7/8" screws throughthe notches in the inlet plate assembly and into thecorresponding mounting holes in the pump scroll.
f. Tighten screws to complete installation of the inlet plateassembly.
g. Install vacuum proving switch in 1/8"(3mm) hole in top of outlet.

The Condensate Trap Assembly (optional) (P/N 01327000), should be installed on the inletside of the EP-200 vacuum pump assembly, see illustration above.
The condensate trap assembly in the discharge line can be eliminated if the discharge line ishorizontal through the wall and pitched down at least one inch per foot. A condensate trap onthe discharge side is required if there isa vertical rise in the discharge line.
It is possible to eliminate the condensatetrap assembly on the vacuum pump ifthe one-inch pipe tapping is plugged. This arrangement will permit drainage ofcondensate through the pump andoutside via the horizontal (pitched)discharge line.

Prior toInstallation
Prior to installing the pump into the heating system, it is recommendedthat operation and proper rotation of the impeller is verified.
As standard, the motor is wired for single-phase, 115V, 60 Hz operation. However, the motor can be rewired for 230V operation by changing themotor connections as indicated by the diagram on the motor connectionbox cover.
Motor rotation can be changed from counterclockwise to clockwise asshown in the illustration below.
Wire the motor interlock and vacuum proving switch per theCORAYVAC® or the VANTAGE® EV installation manuals.

Vacuum Pump Venting Instructions
Venting General RequirementsInstall the venting in accordance with the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/NFPA-54 -latest revision. This section provides partial information about this specification with regard tosize and configuration for venting requirements (see following figures). However, to provideassurance of proper and safe operation, it is the responsibility of the installer to make surethe installation is in strict accordance with the National Fuel Gas Code.
The vent may exit the building either Vertically or Horizontally. Horizontal discharge ispreferred (See Page 13, Figure 13). Vertical discharge must be arranged as shown onPage 12, Figure 12.
Venting the Vacuum Pump1. The exhaust connection from the vacuum pump is 4.5" (11 cm) diameter.
2. Connect one of the flexible isolation boots provided to the 4" flue pipe, using the silicone rubber ring provided.
3. Connections to flue pipe larger than 4" (10 cm) require use of an appropriate "taper pattern reducer" (not supplied).
4. Venting from the pump may discharge either horizontally or vertically; corrosion resistant pipe is recommended.
5. Vent lengths are allowed as follows:
VENT LENGTH VENT SIZE
Up to 10' (3 m) 4" (10 cm) vent/no elbowsUp to 25' (7.5 m) 5" (12.5 cm) vent/3 elbowsUp to 50' (15 m) 6" (15 cm) vent/3 elbows
If the vent pipe is over 30' (9 m) long, insulate it to minimize condensation. Seal all dischargepipe joints with General Electric RTV 106 or Permatex Form-A-Gasket red high-temperaturesilicone adhesive or equivalent.
For Horizontal Venting:1. Vent must exit building not less than 7' (2,134mm) above grade when located
adjacent to public walkways.
2. Vent must terminate at least 3' (914mm) above any forced air inlet located
within 10' (3,048mm).
3. Vent shall terminate at least 4' (1,219mm) below, 4' (1,219mm) horizontally from or 1' (305mm) above any door, window or gravity air inlet into building.
4. Locate vent terminal at least 12" (305mm) from any opening through which vent
gases could enter a building.
5. Use only corrosion resistant materials for the discharge line from the pump to the
point of discharge.
6 Vent terminal opening must extend beyond any combustible overhang.
7. Install vent terminal at a height sufficient to prevent blockage by snow.
8. Protect building materials from degradation by flue gases.
9. Any portion of flue pipe passing through a combustible wall must be dual insulated
or an approved thimble must be used.
See sidewall venting illustration for guidelines on matching pump capacity to vent size. Length of pipe isequal to total of vertical and horizontal length.

Vent Recommendations in order of preferred use:1. Porcelain coated tubing 4" (102mm) O.D. (P/N 9141030C)2. Heat treated aluminized tubing 4" (102mm) O.D. (P/N 91409408)
To remove the motor or impeller, the scroll must be opened. Remove the (7) nuts/bolts and insert a knife bladebetween the scroll halves to cut through the factory appliedsealant. Separate the two halves.
The impeller can be removed by loosening the (2) 3/8-24 set screws, removing the 10-32 screw and retainer assembly. With anappropriate wheel puller, remove the impeller.
The motor can now be removed, if necessary, by loosening the attachment hardware.
Re-assembly of motor/impeller combination requires properalignment. Make sure the impeller has a 1/4" (6 mm) clearance offthe inside wall of the scroll. Be certain of proper motor alignmentand free rotation.
