Mission: The mission of the Aircraft Maintenance Technology Diploma program is to provide the regional aerospace industry with qualified aviation professionals trained to international standards.
Program Entry Requirements: See Academic Framework – Minimum Admission Requirements (p. 27).
Program Regulations: Letter grades are determined in accordance with the requirements of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) Information Bulletin (IB) 20/2006 and to conform to the requirements of the HCT’s Training Organization Certificate No. U.A.E. 12/2008 issued 13 May 2008 as follows: A+ = 95% to 100%, A = 90% to 94%, A- = 85% to 89%, B+ = 80% to 84%, B = 75% to 79%, F = less than 75%. The maximum grade allowed for supplemental assessments is, accordingly, a
grade ‘B’ for Aviation Program courses.
Students who have successfully completed Semester 4 of the Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance may transition into Semester 5 of the Higher Diploma in Aviation Engineering Technology (Avionics) or (Airframe and Aeroengines) after completing successfully all courses in the Aviation Bridge program (ARAB N100, ENGL N124, ENGL N125, ENGL N174, ENGL N175).
Students are required to complete the International English Language Testing System (Academic Module) with an overall band of 4.5 with no skill below 4.0 to graduate.
Students assessed to be in need of remediation to complete the final English assessment have the option of registering for the non-credit course of ENGL N2255 Diploma English IV.
