Inquiry in Practice

• Watch the video.• What would a school leader expect to observe

if the lesson is being effectively aligned to the module?

Choose an Evidence Guide indicator. Write a CCSS-aligned instructional practice

embedded within the lesson that is emphasized within the indicator.

Determine the observable teacher actions that would reflect the aligned practice.

Instructional Challenges

• What do my students not know and what can they not do in relation to argument writing or inquiry/research?

• What part of the teacher’s instruction is missing in targeting these gaps?

• What knowledge do I need to build in order to support this work in my school?

• What knowledge do my teachers need to build, and what is my plan to support them?

Action Planning• Create an Implementation Plan for your school:

Overarching Goal and Rationale with Implementation Steps

When will the step begin and end? What are the existing and new resources that will

be used to accomplish this step? Who is responsible for ensuring that this step is

accomplished? How will we know that this step was accomplished

with fidelity and quality? Issues we need to think about when implementing

this Action
