Why are fossil fuels a problem?

Fossil fuel supply is limited

Fossil fuels cause environmental harm by releasing CO2 into the atmosphere

Please note: Energy sources that cause environmental harm,

are non-replaceable after use, and come from organic materials (like fossil fuels) are called nonrenewable energy

Where is most of our energy going? Most of the energy produced is for

electricity.

Electricity is made by an electric generator.

Electric generators convert mechanical energy into electric energy.

How does a generator work? Water is heated by burning coal

Then the steam is pushed through the generator

The generator has a turbine (wheel) inside that changes the steam into electricity
