Alex Balara ’15 led the Purple and Gold with 23 points, eight rebounds, three steals, two assists, and a block in the win, while Danielle Cleary ’18 was right behind Balara with 17 points, four rebounds, and an assist. GAME-WINNING RUN With 3:19 left in regulation time against Alfred, the Purple and Gold were tied at 61-61. The Soaring Eagles then went on an 8-1 run to seal the fate of the game and win, 69-62. BALARA’S DOUBLE-DIGIT STREAK Alex Balara ’15 extended her double-digit scoring streak to six games after dropping 23 points against Alfred University. She has now aver- aged 17.7 points per contest since her return to the court this season. GEISLER SETTING UP THE PLAYS Kelsey Geisler ’15 dished out a career-high seven assists against Alfred University and now ranks second in the Empire 8 Conference in as- sists per game with 3.8, just 0.3 behind conference leader McKaylee Croll ’18 of Alfred University. She also ranks tied for third in the Em- pire 8 Conference in assist-to-turnover ratio with a ratio of 1.1. ELMIRA BLOCKING SHOTS The Purple and Gold are averaging 3.00 blocked shots per contest this season. This ranks them second in the Empire 8 Conference, 1.56 blocked shots per game behind conference leader Stevens Institute of Technology. Leading the EC women in the respective statistic are Meghan Loya ’16 and Danielle Cleary ’18 who rank fourth and sev- enth with averages of 1.1 and 0.8 per game, respectively. Geisler’s helpinG hanDKelsey Geisler ’15 dished out four assists against St. John Fisher College. She has upped her season total to 31 and is averaging a team-leading 3.4 assists per game. She ranks fourth in the Empire 8 Conference in assists per contest, just 0.7 away from first place McKaylee Croll ’15 of Alfred University. She also boasts an assist-to-turnover ratio of 0.9, which ranks her sixth in the Empire 8 Conference.
cleary in The TOp-5Danielle Cleary ’18 is averaging 15.9 points per contest this season. She is in a tie for fifth place in the Empire 8 Conference in points per game. Cleary has scored in a variety of ways this season, including a strong show-ing from three-point range. She shooting 36.7 percent from distance and has made an average of 2.2 three-pointers per contest. She ranks third in three-point field goal percentage and fourth in three-pointers per game in the Empire 8 Conference.
