• Indications• Extraarticular fractures of the proximal Ulna
• Intraarticular fractures of the proximal Ulna
• Osteotomies (e.g. Non-unions of the proximal Ulna)
• Features• Anatomically shaped with a thin design to incorporate 2.7mm
screws in the joint area
• 2.7mm screws neutralizes the forces that impact the trizeps
• Screws aim at and stabilize the coronoid
• LOQTEQ® Locking and Compression screws in the shaft
• System is compatible with the LOQTEQ® small fragment Set

Special Instrument
The aiming arm
Assists in positioning the distal screws in the medial plate to help to ensure optimal support for the distal articular block
• Connect the aiming arm to the medial plate• The target of the drill is guided 1,5mm
above the peak to prevent damaging the drill
Distal Medial Humerus Plate 2.7/3.5
10
• Easy assembling and disassembling for the sterilization process

Preoperative Planning
Distal Medial Humerus Plate• Plate position: medial column, medial• Orientation of distal screws: medio-lateral
Distal Dorsolateral Humerus Plate• Plate position: lateral column, dorsal• Orientation of distal screws: postero-anterior

• Connection of the targetingdevice to the medial plate.
The target of the drill is guided1,5mm above the peak to preventdamaging the drill
• Positioning the medial plate on the medial condyle of the distal humerus
• First steps
Operational Technique
15
• Inserting the K-Wire or Ø 2.0mm drill for primaryfixation of the plate
• Drill the oblong hole Ø 2,5mm tofix the plate and pull the plate tothe bone with a standard screw
Elbow system / Medial Plate
16
• A standard screw can pull the plate to the bone
• 3.5/2.7mm depth gauge tomeasure screw length (not on picture) and then insertion ofthe screw
Elbow system / Medial Plate
17
• The targeting device can now beremoved and the counter nut canbe turned to the top position.
• Now the drill guide withmeasuring option can be fixed
Elbow system / Medial Plate
18
• Drill for Ø2,7mm locking screws
• Read off the depth on the drillguide for appropriate screw length
Elbow system / Medial PlateDrill guide is marked with twomeasurement options
1. 10-42mm (2mm steps)2. 45-75mm (5mm steps)
19
• After fixing the first locking screw, the targeting device drill guide canbe removed
… and a screw can be placed wherethe targeting device was
Elbow system / Medial Plate
20
• Now the other screws can be inserted. The option of LOQTEQ compression in the shaft can be used.
Elbow system / Medial Plate
21
• The dorsolateral plate andthe placement of the jointnear screws is shown here. The optimal placementwould bring the screws in between each otherwithout interference.
• It is important to make surethat both plates are in different lengths to avoidstressing the bone and therisk of an additional fracture.
22
• Please check thepositioning under X-Ray and reposition ifnecessary
Elbow system / Dorsolateral Plate
• Positioning of the plate at least 3mm above the joint line to preventplacement into the articular surfaceof the radius
23
• Preparing the insertion of thestandard screw Ø 3,5mm
• Drill and measure with depthgauge
Elbow system / Dorsolateral Plate
24
• Insertion of 2.7mm distal screws
Elbow system / Dorsolateral Plate
25
• Insertion of screws and 3.5 shaft screws as known withLOQTEQ small fragment plates

28
• In summary the aap implant system fulfills the mechanical requirements, because it matches the properties of current implant systems. The mechanical properties of the system by the competitor Synthes could be exceeded.
