Lunch Lecture of Sete Brasil at OTC
Institutional Director of EJA, Luciana Sandri, attended the lunch lecture of the President of Sete Brazil, João Ferraz, during the OTC Brazil held in Rio de Janeiro, from the 29th to the 31st of October. In his lecture, João Ferraz talked about investments in the Brazilian pre-salt region that has attracted worldwide attention. He said the focus of the oil and gas industry will be in Brazil for a long time.
However, the first step to making the pre-salt economically viable is the completion of the drilling program, which should also consider the restrictions, related to specific goals for the minimum local content for goods and services for the drilling phase. These goals state that the rigs used in the pre-salt area should be constructed in Brazil for the first time.
Sete Brasil develops together with certain investors already existing in the market, such as Jurong, the construction of 28 new-generation equipment to be built in five different Brazilian shipyards. EJA will build seven drilling rigs in the model Jurong Espadon. Ferraz explained as Sete Brasil proposes to mitigate the risks involved associated with this project, including construction, credit, operation, financing and other risks associated, ensuring the rigs for the pre-salt and the dividends to its shareholders.
