Ever since teaching an adult Sunday school class on "The Secular Stories of Christmas with Sacred Meanings," and being challenged by the class to write my own secular Christmas Story; I have been awakened in the wee-hours on these nights before Christmas; only to find myself with shivery feet typing madly away on the next story. Thirty-six stories and many years later, I will read several of my original stories each sewn with the sacred threads of the season. Sentimental 4 Performance, Friday, December 14, 6:30 pm, Meredith Chapel Sentimental 4 is a band of friends who bring music from the early to mid-1900’s in the Benny Goodman style. The concert will include Christmas music and melodious favorites from the past. It’s a Wonderful Life, Saturday, December 15, 3 pm– 4 pm, Meredith Chapel Come see and hear your Sunnyside neighbors as they recreate the 1947 radio-play version of "It's a Wonderful Life." A year after the classic film's release, it was adapted for the radio, and the broadcast included Jimmy Stewart, Donna Reed, and other members of the original film cast. George and Mary Bailey, Clarence the angel, Ma Bailey, mean old Mr. Potter, Uncle Billy, Mr. Gower, Bert, Ernie, and so many more of the wonderful characters presenting their wonderful moving story.
