“Comprendiendo los desafíos de la educación global” (Understanding the
challenges of Global Education) was the final stage of the "Education Now" project
which began with a MeltonShare in August, in which we were able to explore the
global situation on education and MF countries' educational systems.
Then, we conducted an Interactive Session at the Symposium 2010 of the
Melton Foundation in Hangzhou, China. In this occasion we discussed the tensions
and challenges education faces in this century in a closer and deeper way.
In the last Interactive session we discussed with the University Community
the same matters as in the Symposium, but also showing the overall project and its
objectives. We used the opinions and examples given by the MF fellows at the
Symposium, to broaden the explanation and exposition of each of the tensions.
This was very useful for the Chilean audience because they were able to
understand in a richer way the roots of today’s problems in education.
These discussions helped us all to have a different approach to learning in
formal education and even more, to foster learning throughout life.
