1. VALUES (Building Commitment) Setting high personal standards in everything you do

such as timekeeping, personal behaviour, learning, teaching, managing

Having a clear set of personal, moral and social values

Encouraging your staff to do the same Agreeing a set of clear values and behaviours for

your school Gandhi had very strong values and morals. Non

violence, equality!

But development is not just a list of words It is not just a management task For it to be a feature of Leadership, it has to be a

“state of mind”, something that is inside you, something you are always concerned with

It is almost part of your personality, something you either ARE or you ARE NOT

This is why many Heads are NOT leaders and why many schools do NOT develop. YOU must change!
