Garth Hill in Bracknell, Berkshire, is a new technology college for the 11-to-19 age

group. Our nine month programme slotted neatly into the contractor’s building

schedule and included applying a mosaic of colours to the feature atrium as

well as the decoration of an impressive array of 21st century learning facilities,

including a theatre auditorium, drama and dance studios, a media suite and

manufacturing and product design facilities.

Harris Boys’ Academy, or the “Pavilion in the park” as it is known, is an equally

impressive new build academy in East Dulwich that also required a tight programme

of decorations to include an atrium, music studio, science laboratories, art and

design studios and a sixth form centre.

In each case the scheduling and sequencing of our work was crucial to the

contractors’ building programmes and the schools’ own timetables.

Lucas is building a strong reputation for completing major decorations packages

to tight timetables in the education sector. Following on from major works at the

Bridge Academy and Hackney Community College, both in North London, our

teams have now completed three more important packages for brand new or

refurbished academies.

The Globe Academy in Southwark is an “all-through” school for 3-to-18 year

olds and our works schedule included the complete redecoration of the primary

school section during the summer holidays and the decoration of refurbished

and new buildings for the rest of the school.
